That is true,

I believe the names of registered poll watchers is a matter of public record.

Arkansas had a two hour wait yesterday, for early voting.

I voted at 9:30am this morning, and the place was almost empty..no waiting.

Our State is in danger of going back to the Rats. I'm HOPING the light turnout signals the RATS are so confident that they are staying home :)

Voter update in west Central Missouri.Just got back from voting .MASSIVE turn out so far. I was #552. I am one of the local committe men and at this point it is a bigger turnout than the 2004 election.

Little did anyone realize that there was a map on the back of that vellum!

The true National Treasurer isn't the map on the back but the words on the front!

The old man wasn't really interested in his name just who he worked for. The watcher had said that he was working for one of the parties but that's all he could say.
The poll workers defended him and said people working inside the polling place weren't allowed to identify themselves by party.
Personally I think the old guy is right. Watchers should wear a tag saying who they are and who they work for.

Waited until 9 to allow for farmers with jobs to vote before their commute. (I have off today). Then went into town and received a shocker. There was a poll worker under 70! He was in his early twenties and was showing people how to work the new electronic voting machines. (It has a paper receipt that you can see printing behind a plastic window recording a backup copy.)
I saw no problems with the electronic machine and it's back up. Thought it was a good step forward.

My Mom and I voted around noon here in Salt Point, NY. There was a steady stream of voters coming into the firehouse. We had to wait about 10 minutes (only one machine - it's a small precinct).

I was voter 249 for the day. The polls opened at 6:00AM. The poll worker said that turnout was very good and so far about 1/3 of the registered voters in the precinct had already voted.

We still have a fraud proof system in Wyoming, paper ballots that you mark with a special pencil and then insert in a counting machine and the ballot stays in the machine. After polls close the whole machine (about 30" x 40" x 36" high) is taken to the court house where the machines are opened and count is read. A recount is possible because the ballots are still in the counting machine. This is the best system. There were scores of counting machines and one optional touch screen voting machine. With so many voting booths and counting machines there is never a long wait here.

To register to vote, a birth certificate or passport is required. To vote you must show a card that is mailed to all registered voters. To remain registered you must vote in every general election.

...was not going to do any campaigning for Hillary and that if she wanted to vote for her, she needed to remember on her own.

Good for you! I would advise that you get to the polls to vote ASAP. It DOES count. I promise they will have you on the right list next election. Sometimes it takes awhile.

Another problem in small towns is the people working the polls are usually older and retired...

I will take a older and retired person anyday over the dense college age looking gal that signed me in to vote today. Told her my name 3 times, even my first name for her once and she still pointed to the wrong name for me to sign in under.

The last time I "voted" in Manhattan was at the 78th & York precinct. They looked thru that huge, sloppy, handwritten roll book and discovered - shock - that my card had been lost. I filled out a paper ballot, knowing that this would probably be lost as well. As I walked out, I saw trampeled paper ballots on the floor...

I voted in West St. Louis County, at 10:00 AM, waited 1/2 hour to vote. By anecdotal reporting of three precincts in the area, turnout seems to be high. People that I've talked to this morning are energized to vote.

Savor each and every day Jonah; always stop and smell the roses; as you already know, time seems to fly when we get distracted by a lot of trivial things that don't really matter all that much. (You're still a spring chicken, but take care of yourself!)

I voted in my small polling place which is heavily Republican, I always ask how the turnout is and the answer usually is pretty slow/light.

Today they told me turnout was pretty good, so that was an encouraging sign.

Well, my "seasoned citizen" couldn't even find my name, although I spelled it out four times...I had to take the book and show her myself!
