Actually I did see it a couple of time only the "magnificent" had a line through it

99.6% counted - the 100% shown on FNC and elsewhere appears to be a rounded number. Lowden (sp) County (Republican area) closed without counting, extra absentees outstanding + I presume Webb had the last minute DNC ballot stash dropped in to push things.

It did. Whether you want to admit it or not, it looked desperate and turned people off.
He was doing fine until that.

Just saw Allen on FOX and he's not quiting. FOX is reporting that the actual vote numbers could be transposed. The tally goes on and doesn't this sound deja-vu!

If this holds up, Allen has two years to rest, heal, regroup, and prepare to win the Republican nomination for President in '08.

You're kidding right? Allen is dead. Finito. Done. And good riddance, he showed himself to be as big a phony as any Democrat with his Macacaisms and pulled pork sandwiches and other idiocy. At least this came out now before we ran this chump as the Republican presidential candidate.

What the heck? The registrar closed up shop in VA. without counting all the votes? Including a big county considered largely conservative? How does stuff like that happen? This is being reported on FOX btw.

I don't think this has anything to do with "Macaca." That was just a joke that went awry. We're having trouble tonight because of the MSM coveage of Iraq over the last two years. We went in there to shut down Saddam's nuclear program and the Treason Media used it against the GOP with no thought to the long-term consequences for our country. But whatever happens with Allen, we'll still beat Hillary, Gore, or Kerry in 2008. John Edwards could win if he learns something about foreign policy.

Allen is history.
His only hope it to replace the soon to retire John Warner. Which means he will probably go up against Mark Warner or the current idiot Democrat Governor Tim Kaine.
The Va GOP has been imploding for the last couple of election cycles and tonight shows it continues to do so.

It's recount time folks. This ain't over yet.

With all the crap that Allen had flung at him from the Webbites (and a good deal of FReepers I might add), it's amazing he's even still standing.

As Flora likes to say, "Stand the Storm!"

NO . . . Allen just announced that all votes have NOT been counted . . . Louden (?) county still has votes to count and does NOT plan to finish the count until tomorrow . . . Allen also indicated that there are absentee ballots still to be counted . . . Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

There are definitely some dufuses in charge of the GOP in Virginia right now. Two consecutive horrible campaigns. Turnout in the Republican counties in VA was fantastic, but not enough to overcome the loss of Republican support in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. Allen really didn't deseve to win this election. Consolation is that Jim Webb is a putz and will not be reelected.

There are still absentee ballots being counted at the county absentee precints.

99. 24% of precincts in.

Statewide recounts in VA come very close to election night results. If you lose by more than 500 votes I'd say you're gone.

The Secretary of State's website shows which precincts had counted their absentees and which had not. Not all had counted them. The same website shows that some localities had precincts were which not accounted for. One of those "lost" ballot boxes contained my son's vote. My son was voter #400 at 8 AM in a conservative town so I know that there are more disenfranished votes besides his.

the numbers DID flip within a minute ... it was 49.44 for Allen and 49.35 for Webb, then they reversed EXACTLY. A little too strange.
