And you think the Dems will pay for it when the Repubs would not?

Yes, I think the Dems will be desperate to prove they are not soft on national security.

The rats were going to demand it anyway and if they did and Bush submitted - then the public would have a field day with how much power the rats would be yielding. This is a tactical denial of territory.

The American people collectively spit on our troops last night.......

A majority of those who voted did.

Get all the junk out at once. The electorate repudiated the current course in Iraq, whether we like it or not. rummy is the poster boy for that. He was rejected. He's gone. Bunch in as much of the crap in the next few days so we can get past it.

Maybe Dubya can make it a twofer. This is the absolute wrong move. Any RAT investigations into Rumsfeld would have helped to cement, in the minds of the mindless, just what a screw-up it was to give these ba$tard$ the majority.

There seems to be a real fear among alot of people we are headed toward another Vietnam.

And for that you may thank Jack Murtha, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, virtually the entire planet... but not President Bush or Sec. Rumsfeld.

Perhaps Bush could make Lieberman the Sec of Defense... then Repub. Gov. Jodi Rell appoints a new GOP senator? Wishful thinking...

Nothing to get excited about.

This always happens in the last two years of a lame-duck President. The cabinet members drop off one by one to seek lucrative positions in academia or business.

Republican or Democrat...this is a very ordinary sequence of events.
