I seem to recall it happening earlier this year around the time all the illegal aliens were demonstrating for their "right" to be here, and was for apparently advocating what might be delicately referred to as "domestic unrest".

He's still around. I'll ping him on his site.

I knew you'd be here...
Hope all is well...

I do believe you are correct. I knew I wasn't getting it quite right, I think that sums it up. Advocating domestic unrest.

Interesting previous thread, to say the least...

Great essay, essential information, mandatory reading :-)
One concern though...any 'authorities' who are tasked to confiscate firearms or ammo (and prosecute the once-law-abiding owner) will quite likely be doing a couple of things
- They will talk to your neighbors. NEVER tell ANYBODY about the fact that you own a gun. Questions will be asked such as "do you know anybody around here who you think might be a gun owner?" If your neighbor happens to be a Leftie, closeted or otherwise, they will be delighted to rat on you, particularly if there's a reward or even just for the fun of seeing your life destroyed. The best policy is to not be 'under their radar', but to be off the radar screen completely, whenever possible. If the subject of guns comes up in conversation with neighbors, co-workers, etc, talk about how you wish that only the Police had guns.
- If your home is targeted, they will use metal detectors in your back yard. If you decide to bury your guns in a PVC pipe, bury them DEEP to be out of range of metal detectors. Best of course is to bury the cache on land that can't be traced to you, but for city dwellers that usually means the weapons are going to be far away.
Also, Cosmolene has been a traditional goo to coat rifles with that are to be placed in long-term storage.

The US Army apparently put out a publication a few years ago numbered "TC-31-29", and titled "Caching Techniques", covering the subject in excruciating detail.
It appears to no longer be part of the official inventory of publications, but there are many copies of it around the Internet (Thank You, Al Gore).
Three representative samples (in the interest of redundancy) of it are here, here and here.

Have to ask, does anyone know why TravisMcGee is banned or suspended? If you want to make people angry, lie to them. If you want to make them absolutely livid, then tell 'em the truth.
Trav told 'em the truth about how to protect America during tough times.

Stoat, do you know where to get cosmolene? I know it's common on newly manufactured items, but don't think it's common in hardware stores...?

I'm gonna have to look into that site a little closer....
A few years ago, I pulled the plug on that site due to lack of funds. After it is was scooped up by the porn overlords, the current owner took over the domain. At first, I tried to buy it from him. He/She would not go for it because he was strating a travel agency. But NOW, it looks as if he is doing something foul!! It has taken over it appears my old skeleton... I see names of Articles and Writers from the old Sit-Rep site. Over four years ago to date my site went down.
This is VERY strange!!
We are here now...

I've been looking at this. Question. Would you buy a 308 or 30.06? Which ammo is (will be) more available?

Wonderful.
I've always thought that when the government starts taking your guns in earnest, that's the time to start breaking the law and putting them under the house.

.308 Win., no question. .30-06 is getting harder to find, while .308 (7.62x51mm NATO) is quite plentiful and still in service. The .308 and 7.62 are not _exactly_ the same round, but everything I've ever bought, both semiauto and bolt-action, works with either.
