What are the Republicans' two options here? Move further left, or move further right. Either we roll over and give the Dems what they want, or we fight them on a few key battles and get labelled (libelled?) obstructionist Republicans just in time for '08. Or we let the conservatives take charge at which point Hillary can proclaim herself a Centrist and take hold of the middle.

Yeah right. I'm sure the people I know that sat this one out of frustration over immigration, runaway spending etc., would sprint to the polls if only our Republican leaders were just a little more like Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi.

This was not so much a vote FOR democrats as it was a vote AGAINST republicans that lost sight of there base.
If a Conservative wants to win in office, be a conservative in actions.
