No...I didn't see that.

I do know that if the GOP was being praised by Al-queda and Iran...I wouldn't be proud of it...but the dems are proud of their popularity in the terrorist's circles.

I have seen several mentions that the lib "BASE" is demanding the impeachment of President Bush, feeling that that is what was promised them during the campaign.

I know they dems will again parse their words, and exchange "impeachment" with "oversight"...but the intention is the same.

AND, I think that is one reason why Rummy resigned...he does not tolerate fools gladly...and OUT of power, he can tell them so....LOL

He would have a rocky start cause of his baggage but he could spin the Junk Media around like no body's business. Wonder if we can get Haley Barbour to come back or if he is happy as a pig in..... being Gov of Miss? We need another great communicator to help us now. We got to go back to square one and teach and fight and argue and beat down until people remember WHY they usually vote Republican again.

Allen can do it on the stump but he sucks on camera. McCain, Hagel, Graham etc are dead. The DC Old Boy's club can love them all they want but they are too busy getting along and "being a maverick" to be the Conservative junk yard dog we need.

Tom Coburn maybe?

I seriesly believe that it will take another hugh attack on this country before the Dems...and even, I guess, a majority of Americans believe what President Bush has been telling them for the last 5 years.

If it comes under the Dems' watch...we HAVE to point our finger at them...and let them know we hold them, and their anti-war rhetoric, and "date certain" pull-out crapola, responsible.

I know some will say that is we are struck again, we need to worry about more than pointing fingers...but, if we HAD pointed fingers more often..more consistently, MAYBE, we wouldn't be in the minority now.

The libs are pushing impeachment:

William Hughes
November 12, 2006

"In the U.S., our first executive magistrate is...subject to censure, if necessary, to punishment. He is the...'accountable' magistrate of a free and great people." - Del. James Wilson (1)

Philadelphia, PA - Within shouting distance of fabled Independence Hall, representatives from a nationwide coalition of organizations met on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, to call for the impeachment of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. In the National Constitution Center's Kirby Auditorium, across the street from where the Declaration of Independence was proclaimed on July 4, 1776, and the U.S. Constitution was signed on September 17, 1787, voices were raised demanding "real change" in the most lawless administration in the history of our Republic. A panel of seven activists shared their views. Elizabeth Holtzman, who gained prominence for her distinguished role in the 1974 House Judiciary Committee's Impeachment Inquiry into the Watergate-related crimes of then-President, Richard M. Nixon, set the tone for the event. (2) Today, this panel launched a grassroots movement, a "Citizens Impeachment Committee," to restore the honor and integrity of our federal government. (3)

Holtzman, a Democrat, from New York City, and a former state's attorney and expert on impeachment, served in the House of Representatives from 1973-81. (4) She told the audience: "It is an extraordinary subversion of the Constitution to send people to die, to be maimed on the basis of a lie...The president knew if he told the truth we wouldn't be in this war...Those framers of the Constitution knew that some day there was going to be a Richard Nixon as President of the United States. And they knew there was going to be a George W. Bush as President of the United States. They knew that subverting the Constitution was the greatest danger to befall our country. So, that all of us here have to be soldiers in that cause." Holtzman added that the illegal acts of Nixon, the lying and the unlawful wiretapping, "are not too different from today. This president has subverted the Constitution and represents a threat to our democracy."

Background: Both Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the soon-to-be Speaker of the House of Representatives; and Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), tagged to be the new Chair of the House's Judiciary Committee, are reporting that impeachment is "off the table." They are both seriously mistaken. The people spoke on Nov. 7th. It is the collective will of the people to hold President Bush and V.P. Cheney accountable for their serial abuses of power. The Republic belongs to the people, not the Wirepullers. (Res Publica Est Res Populi: The Republic is the Property of the People.) It is our sons and daughters who have died in Iraq. It is our money, in the hundreds of billions of dollars, which has been wasted there in a war launched based on a pack of outrageous lies. (5) It is our Constitution that has been ignored, and our rights violated by the widespread and unlawful surveillance program, initiated without legal process and proper U.S. Federal Court oversight, by the Bush-Cheney Gang. It is important, particularly, for Rep. Pelosi to remember recent history. An arrogant House Speaker, Tom "Bad Check" Foley (D-WA), (1989-95), forgot that he was only a trustee of his high office and not an owner of it. His constituents rebuked him for his hubris. Foley was voted out on the street. Foley's fate in 1995, could be Pelosi's fate in 2008!

A lot of these "principled conservatives" like to call themselves Reagan Conservatives. Unfortunately they don't know jack about Reagan. RR was the consummate deal maker. He was always willing to take what he could get and go back until he got what he wanted. Many don't know the potholes he stepped in. The mistakes he made.

I knew what I was getting when I voted for Bush and I can see nothing in his policies that contradict what he ran on. The most important thing he had was his integrity. The Dems have hammered on that public perception for six years. Finally it stuck. I cannot remember very many Republicans coming forward to defend his honor. He was too much of a (whatever) to do it himself. Shame on the Republicans on TV, the Republicans in Congress. They basically have stood by for six years while a good man was dragged through the mud. We should debate policy vigorously, but the way the Pubbies have sat back and allowed out CIC to be called every vile name in the book is worse than just wrong.

And where was the national party when Katherine Harris and Ken Blackwell were being crucified for just doing their job?

I have heard a lot of criticism about the Harriet Miers nomination. I still don't know anything about her judicial philosophy. I must have missed the hearings. All I know is that she didn't have the right educational background. Ann told me so. You know, Ann Coulter. She had a stellar legal career and issued ground breaking rulings from the bench. All I have ever heard Coulter do is gripe. She is never lacking for an opinion of "what" needs to be done, but never offers a "how" to get there. Life is easy when when one doesn't have to operate in a world where working with someone is required to actually achieve a goal. She must think there really is an "easy button". And unfortunately she is just one of many we should have been able to depend on for reasoned analysis but couldn't. She(they) failed.

That was one of the most painful things I have ever witnessed.

#527, I love the Sarasota area and I would hate to see Jennings as the Congresscritter. There are great Doctors over there, unlike where I live where only a handful are worth anything. The best Rheumatologists in the State. Standing on the Tamiami Trail with the cool soothing Gulf breezes blowing softly through your hair is almost like a massage with Aromatherapy. No kidding... Florida has a fantastic Congressman in the Polk County area, Adam Putnam who I predict will one day be governor and then become the first red headed President in America. He is only 31,but he is mentally much older and more mature. He is 5th in Leadership now, and he will probably be #3 in the minority. They should all be like him. He did a lot for Joe Negron, just not enough time. I predict that the Dems wanted to cool Nelson's heels because a lot of us believe he has Dementia and the RAts were hoping they could win the Governor's mansion so they could appoint someone that has mental capacity above a Donkey. They are going to have to hide him like Jeffords, and have his staff do everything for him. The debate really shocked a lot of people even Buffalo Butt Russert when he looked off into space and announced that he did not know what K Harris was talking about when it was all his liberal votes. In a way I believe he did not know,he is lucky he knows his own name.

Let me introduce my welcome cartoon for Sen McCain - Please LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN NOT READ IT, ERORS, SPELLING ETC

. As long as we are on the subject of the future of the GOP, I think it bears to examine what went wrong past Nov 7th. Well, I think I “discovered” Hugh Hewitt :) I like this guy and his analysis of things that contributed to the recent GOP loss… Take a look at MacaCain's contribution!
