IMHO conservatives need to consider forming a whole new political party

The GOP cannot win without support from all its factions. If conservatives split off, they'll never win anything.

In a perfect world....what would your solution be to the illegal problem? And, believe me, it is a HUGE problem. I encounter it every single day here in Texas. So, what to do? Is it really possible to round them all up and send them south of the border? Or, should they be identified, and allowed to stay? What about the border? Military? A fence?

I'm just asking....I don't know what the answer should be.

He is 100% pro-amnesty. He'd bring them all here tomorrow if he could.

What gets me is that people are acting all surprsied by this!

Martinez is a political moron.

He managed to piss off every core group which has made florida a republican state. From bikers, gun owners, property owners, and supporters of traditional marriage Mel has mucked it up.

He is an empty suit and this is just further proof that the elites of DC are back in charge. Mel has not substance he just follows orders.

Until Libertarians get over the idea that you can kill a small child and call it freedom, they will not be a party worth the support of any conservative.

Why would the party that just LOST name a LOSER as national chairman??

That's why it is so much more disappointing that he backs the shamnesty legislation the Senate and President want to shove down our throats. He should realize citizenship and the promises the USA offer should not be thrown out for free to anyone not willing to play by the rules. That's like using pages from the Bible to line your birdcage!!

We need to all get together... this entire scene is insane... and getting worst every day... after twenty years of funding the Republican party... I am so discouraged...
We seem to just want to buy or tint elections with certain colors: green, brown, black, etc... it really should be about character, vision, productivity - but I guess I am way out of order in today's politics...
Point of interest:
We have a neighbor who ran for a judicial position - no one was less qualified, the guy's an alcoholic, working on his third wife, kids run wild.. but yet, took $200,000 of his own money, borrowed on his home for an additional $100,000 and won the election - he is now going to be a judge for $140,000 a year... let's see...how do you spell "under the table gifts"????
Perhaps I am destined for a new party or a new country... Australia anyone?

I went online and looked, it is Maricopa county. WOW, I found a blog that must be out of AU in Tempe, says it was started specifically to follow the Mitchell/Hayworth race and they are ecstatic that Mitchell is still ahead and calling JD a crybaby... this is what we are getting with liberal universities and the push to register more and more young voters.
