Wow, I cannot believe the Lexington Herald-Liberal actually printed this!

Wednesday is the one day per week they allow a bit of Conservatism in their pages. They're fair and balanced, don'cha know?

Hippies still trying to ruin the country

Rove totally "screwed the pooch" on this election.

He failed to make it clear that putting the children (Democrats)
in charge of the House and/or Senate was basically handing
over power to "The Class of 1968", i.e., how Sixties Radicals are
termed in France.

And that the "Conservative Democrat" labels were just iron-on appliques.

For example, consider their continued belief that America's armed forces are neo-Nazi stormtroopers

Sheesh. Everybody knows that the neo-Nazi stormtroopers are assigned to the BATF.

Has a ring of "generational warfare" to it.

It wasn't even that common in California. Most people who grew up during that time were not hippies, or even close.

Much of what we see and read about the Sixties is leftist propaganda served up by the mainstream media. ("Fake but accurate"!)

Correct on both points.

The boomers were subjected to a completed tactics change by the communists and anarchists that had been disrupting with terror tactics since the turn of the century. The commies realized that the war on the American economy was failing, as there were too many prosperous individuals to allow recruitment to communism, so they changed tactics, to rot from the inside, by propaganda and social liberalism, using a free society and hiding behind equal rights social issues, they infiltrated government bureaucracy, media, and education accepting lower pay as communist moles to direct propaganda and indoctrination.

The privileged, spoiled children boomers were easy to move away from values to tolerance of evil, and allowing evil in government.

60's hippies won't admit that communists out thought them, so it goes on, America is not allowed to defend her grace and good, a terrorist identical to the communist/anarchist terrorist of the early twentieth century might get killed.

An interesting book about it -- those born between maybe '58 and '64.

That would include me. I may be a boomer from a demography standpoint, but when Woodstock happened, I was 10. I was hardly part of the fray.

I penned an outline of a book last year titled "Ten Years After the Wave", intended as a comedy about a poor soul who is ten years younger than the crest of the baby boomers. Every time he gets to a particular stage in life, he discovers the hippies got there 10 years earlier and have throughly screwed it up. For example, he is laughed at when he is 4 because he can't hoola-hoop, and by the time he masters this art, no one cares.

Just when he is ready to embrace free-love and get into sport fornicating everyone moves to the "new celibacy", etc. etc. etc.

Being caught in the wake of a juggernaut your entire life is no fun.

I'm with you Woofie. I was a freshman @ U.T. Austin in 1966. I was as radical as they come. Still think the war in Vietnam was total Bullshit. But, I have been voting Repub. since 1976. My core values have always been conservative and are more so today.

Far be it from me to even seem to be in the position of defending lefty moonbats, but this op-ed is, er, a bit over the top itself. Which goes to show that moonbatism plays no ideological favorites.

Well at the Ivies and major West Coast schools, the Communists ran rampant. Most of the levers of power in both the public and private sector are held by those who went to those schools during the 60s and 70s.
