Didn't Warren also just invite Barack Obama to speak at his "megachurch"?

But regarding the CFR - it is good to know where people stand regarding the CFR and hear their opinions - right? It is good to know if websites, the people on them, the folks who run the website - it is good to know if they are in agreeement or disagreement with all that the CFR believes in. It is probably best that people know whether or not their pastor is a CFR member and aligned with it's goals.

I would love to see journalists exposed. Why are they the only industry free of investigations? Big bad oil companies. Big bad preachers. Big bad politicians. Who is watching the journalists? The tables should be turned. Investigate journalists ethics and actions. Not for a liberal/conservative bias. But for private and public actions. Shouldn't they disclose their stock portfolios? Shouldn't they disclose all of their affiliations?
Every newspaper, every magazine, every TV/Radio journalist should post their resume, affiliations, and financial dealings. Do they hold Halliburton stock? Exxon stock? Maybe it effects their journalism. Shouldn't they be held to the same standard?
Where did they go to school? What clubs did they belong to? What was their religious upbringing? How rich are they? What party do they belong to? What SUV do they drive? Gay or straight? Affairs? Boxers or briefs? Inhale or exhale? Did they ever use drugs in college? Any DUI's in their past? Have they ever uttered the word 'macaca'? We need a clearinghouse for all this information. It's not about liberal or conservative. It's about point of view and hidden agendas. Lay it on the table Mr.& Ms. Journalist.

"The moment I picked his books up I knew I couldn't follow the teachings. Something wasn't quite right when I listened to my heart."
I had the same sort of mild "repulsion" but I went through the whole book. I had to force myself. It was okay but not the revelation that so many seemed to find. I never understood so many churches devoting Sunday worship to the book or the Christians that were so crazy about it. I tend to be unimpressed with so many "popular" trends in Christian churches.
To: Paige
I cannot read his book either. I think it is tedious and poorly written. Good points, maybe.

"How can anyone now think that Rick Warren is a conservative Evangelical? He is a liberal, new-age Contemplative Spiritualist." Like emotional immaturity, spiritual immaturity = lack of discernment.
There's a sucker born every minute and two messianic megolomanic grifters to take him.

I had to read through most of the article to see what "CFR" was; in my line of business, it's "Code of Federal Regulations".

Have you ever read World magazine? It is a news magazine written from a Christian worldview. They don't just rubber stamp all things that have a Christian label. You can look it up online to get an idea. It is a very good source.

Oh, he's a televangelist. He just doesn't have a scheduled weekly program. :)
To: Paige
If you stop at the first sentence, the book is great! :)
