I don't worry about them bringing in the flu. Try these bugs TB a drug resistant type because they will not take the meds right it becomes super bug, Polio, Meningitis, Hepatitis, Chicken Pox, Small Pox, and other assorted bugs many of which we had nearly wiped out. I doubt you will find 1 in 10 illegals in public school with so much as a shot record. Bush is offering a glass of water to put out a grease fire.
Again, while you are not wrong about additional problems, due to illegal immigrants' all-too-frequent lack of immunizations, and I am not in favor of GWB's approach to the current immigration problem, as an IMMIGRATION problem, but beyond those facts, in the meantime (since he nor anyone in the Roman Senate is going to force illegals to leave), it is not a negative thing to, out of concern for the whole public, to help get anyone who needs a flu vaccine to get one.
While doing one good will not undo the rest of the harm left in place, by itself it is not a bad thing. Would I prefer that the cause for the additional doses of government-subsidized flu vaccine be eliminated and thus eliminating the need for them? Sure. But it is not going to happen, at least not before the next flu season (if ever).
Therefore, to not provide those doses is simply to deny reality in favor of wishful thinking that the ideal (fewer illegal immigrants) would and should exist - which we know it won't. Thus, to deny those doses would simply do more harm in a misguided attempt to satisfy our disgust at the current situation. Seems rather childish to me.
