Your comparison is totally flawed.

And these illegals worked for him for 8 years.

My sister recently built a house. She made sure that none of the contracters and sub-contracters who worked on the house had illegals working there.

It is possible to obey the law.

Bernie was in trouble over fooling around with some woman in a love nest that he didn't pay for.

"The employer could verify social security numbers every time they got an Hispanic applicant, but then they'd be sued for discrimination under Title VII."

You sure about that? Ever heard of the Basic Pilot program?

You people make me laugh. He hired a company to work on his yard. Was he expected to walk around and demand proof of status of everyone one of those workers?

You're right. It's called "eating our own".

After May 1st of this year I went to the trouble to find out that most of the employees at my favorite Mexican restaurant were largely illegals from Jalisco. ICE refused to do anything.
I miss the #23 lunch special, but haven't been back since.

check the immigration status of the workers next time you go to a restaurant.

That's the first thing I did when I bought a restaurant a few years ago.
The dish washer showed me his Mexican ID. I told him not to come back.
I've felt bad ever since for not going the additional step of turning his criminal invader butt into the INS.

When you employ someone and their social security numbers don't match, the social security administration will send the employer a letter saying so!

It is up to the employer to then fire the person who obviously has fake documents! Lots of employers just ignore those letters because they know they can get by with that.

The SS department doesn't really care either, they collect lots of money on phony numbers.

Yeah. Law and Order had a "ripped from the headlines" episode about it.

"Bernie was in trouble over fooling around with some woman in a love nest that he didn't pay for."

Not what I asked. Anyone?

And if you've got proof they are illegals, *()&^%$$@, post it!

Tom Tancredo basically admitted himself it was illegals who built Tancredo's home theater basement, but he blamed it on the contractor.

DENVER — A congressman who has been demanding tighter immigration controls is defending himself against allegations that illegal immigrants remodeled his basement. Two employees of a contracting company say they and other illegal immigrants from Latin America helped install a home entertainment center and a bedroom in the Littleton home of Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., The Denver Post reported Thursday. Last month, after the Post wrote about a young illegal immigrant's struggle to pay for college, Tancredo reported the teen and his family to the Immigration and Naturalization Service. On Thursday, Tancredo said that when the remodeling was done last fall, he never asked about the workers' immigration status. Even if the workers were in the country illegally, "what is my responsibility at this point in time?" Tancredo said in a telephone interview from Washington. "I go to dinner at restaurants and probably have come into contact with people who are here illegally. I do not ask, of course. It is actually illegal and you can be sued."

Kimberly when is Tom tancredo going to call the press and with a sledgehammer destroy his basement home theater, because it was built with "impure" labor.

I can forgive him for this. Although I still don't think he's the best the GOP can do for '08.

My favorite Mexican place didn't hire illegals and the owner was very proud of that fact. Unfortunately, he and his wife were also running a brothel, that catered to the illegals in the area.

Needless to say, I no longer patronize the place..........

LOL, yes, which is why Conservatives/Republicans voters are such losers, the MSM are masters of their fate.

The liberal media plays them like a fiddle, they smear and we run in fear.

Which is why so few Conservatives run for office, their base of supporters are chicken-sh#ts.

Romney: Do as I say, not as I do!!

Oh what a complete crock.

The story you posted has a Boston Globe reporter interviewing four people that say they are illegal immigrants working for this landscaping company that were never asked for legal papers and that they are paid $9 to $10 an hour under the table.

The Globe is trying to have it every which way to Sunday. There is no mention of legal repercussions for the employer or the workers. Is the Globe going to interview the workers of other companies that work for prominent Mass. Democrat politicians? So the Globe wants to embarass Romney because he's a Republican by highlighting illegal immigrants hired by an otherwise legal contractor, a violation of immigration laws that the Globe otherwise endorses? Please!

This is nothing but a hit job by liberal media hacks and Freepers like yourself that charachterize this as a do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do scenario. It isn't.

As another Freeper put it so well: this is like expecting a restaurant owner to disclose all of their worker's legal status before ordering food.
