President Bush will ease a long-standing rule barring HIV-positive people from entering the United States without a special waiver, a ban long criticized by human rights groups.
Because of the rule, organizers of the biannual International AIDS Conferences have not held a gathering in the United States since 1990, when San Francisco hosted the event.
The White House chose Friday, World AIDS Day, to announce that Bush would issue an executive order allowing HIV-positive people to enter the United States on short-term tourist or business visas without having to seek special permission.

Nobody likes Bush. So Bush tries to get everybody to like him by making stupid rules. End result, we have stupid rules and a president disliked by both right and left.
Before I boarded the plane to go to Russia in 1996 I had to have an AIDS test and when I boarded the plane, I had to have the documentation that I was HIV Neg with me.
I'm very much against this.
He's opened up visas for thousands more Saudi students and now this. What next? Please, don't answer....

President Bush seems to feel we need more AIDS in this country. Something is terribly wrong in the White House.
At best, President Bush appears to be a closet Democrat. He signed CFR while pretending to have reservations about it even though he could easily have vetoed it. He wants to surrender our country to the invasion of illegal aliens, and he spends like a Democrat.
It may be the SF Chronicle, but does that mean there is not change in the executive order baring the HIV positive from entering the U.S.? You need to be careful with knee-jerk reactions.

Something STINKS in the White House. He's putting "politics" over the best interests of the American people.

Perhaps he's trying to condition America for the open borders NAU "come one, come all" policies.
Whatever he's trying to do for whatever reason, it's not going to be good for American citizens/taxpayers, that's clear. I think Bush has "lost it".

I'm beginning to think that I have failed to blame him strongly enough for his failure to protect our borders.
Yes, yes, and yes. Let everybody in. Who cares? (Clearly not the fools who voted dem last month.) Uncle Sam will foot the bill for whatever. The dems attitude is that the feds will pay...(compassion, sound of violins, etc.), and that taxpayers are too dumb to figure out their pockets are being picked.
One thing that really sadly disappointed me was when I realized that GWBush had absolutely no respect for American citizens/taxpayers, and that he was no different from the other crooks in Washington, no matter which party they claim to represent.
That's when I called it quits on the GOP/DEM party, and will change my mind only when (and if) the GOP gives us a real American-loving candidate for '08.
