For two cents/Should Hillary Clinton run for president?
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | December 10, 2006 | comments

Ed Colloff, San Mateo
The Democrats need to nominate an electable alternative to the Republicans. Hillary is popular on the coasts, but she cannot win a majority with her gender and her baggage. For the good of the Democratic Party and the United States, she should not run.

Evie Groch, El Cerrito
All qualified candidates should run for president, especially women. Hillary has proven herself capable of effectively holding an elected office and serving well. Her running sends a message about who should be in the government arena as a major player. Besides, isn't it about time to envision referring to Bill Clinton as the first gentleman?

Lauren Coodley, Napa
She should be able to run, just like any American who can raise millions of dollars. She won't win, because she's the wrong woman, someone who is widely disliked by many interest groups and especially by swing voters. Voters need to choose someone who is strongly likable to the average person -- and Hillary isn't.

Sanford Chandler, San Francisco
She should definitely run. It's time we realized that a woman may be just what this country needs. She's bright, compassionate, eloquent and she sure knows her way around the White House.

Stephen Hew, Berkeley
I'm not sure she has the draw that Obama does, and Democrats need as much personality as they can get in order to defeat the Republican machine.

Abra White, San Francisco
America is not yet ready for Hillary. Since we're in this chaotic war, I think we could use someone with military experience to guide us out securely. She would not be a good leader in these times.

Interesting comments from the Left Coast however, lest we forget (the clintons have a lot of unanswered baggage - V. Foster being one of the suit cases)

That won't matter to liberals one whit. They still worship the Clintons.

I know we're supposed to be careful what we wish for, but I sure hope she gets the nomination.

The question is silly because her running is fact already.

Whatever you are smoking, put it down, and take a long, cold shower until you can think again.

I say let her run as well. Although you know that the MSM will do nothing but puff pieces on her. They'll say that her corrupt and socialist ways have already been reported on and drop it.

I wouldn't mind seeing former Senator Sam Nunn (D-GA) enter the Democratic contest. He could rescue the party.

Yes......if she'll admit that she's a socialist and a member of the communist party. Get it over with, get it out there where everyone of voting age can make an informed decision.

I think the only way hildabeast could win would be for Republicans to run someone left of her like Rudy Julie Annie.
Thats why the MSM pushes him, she could beat him.

i think if she runs, people will recognize her inherent rotteness and will not elect her just like jimmy stewart realized he was holding a piece of cowflop when mr.potter shook his hand in "it's a wonderful life"

She's already won her party's nomination and LaBamba will get the VP nod.

You can bank it.

The only question will be if John Edwards, Bill Richardson and Evan Bayh should be removed from life support.

I have thought that a Mrs. Clinton/Obama ticket is likely. It should be an easy ticket to beat if we have someone to beat it with. So far the field on our side looks bleak.

*** Hillary has proven herself capable of effectively holding an elected office and serving well.***

Pardon me , but what is so hard about being a Senator?

You show up, they give you a nice office, because she is Hillary they give her plum Committee assignments and an office with a view.

From day one she has set herself up for her Presidential run, Collecting money illegally for it passing that money oput to others to buy their support ,voting with the Dims and following the polls. She and Chucky have endeavored to buy New York voters with pork and have succeeded well.

In you time off you attend parties ,fund raisers, trips paid for by the Government or a lobbyist ,fly around in some lobbyists private plane, and just plain have a ball having you butt kissed by just about everyone on the Hill.

So as the article says she has proven herself, Gee How hard is that? In the same situation any idiot with an IQ of a 75 watt bulb could do the same.

The secret is dont get your hand caught in the till, dont get your private parts caught in an intern or page, and dont open your mouth until your advisors have told you what to say, and dont answer any questions that havent been asked in advance.
