Wesolych Swiat Bozego Narodzenia!

Ah, memories of the Oplatek ritual at my Bapscia's house, and her suppers after Mass.

Bump, to see some of the things I miss from the Christmas's I spent with my grandmother.

BTW: Do you celebrate the Epiphany like the Poles do? Traditionally, you visit the houses of friends and neighbors for a toast, with the kids often dress up as the Magi.

BTW: FELIZ NAVIDAD!

Hi there. Feliz Navidad to you too.

Epiphany or Three Kings' Day is celebrated on January 6 on the island. On the eve, children go out and collect "feed" for the camels in exchange for next morning's gifts. Different churches have different pageants involving reenactments of the Magi's visit to the Christ child, the most elaborate and famous of which occurs in the southern town of Juana Diaz. These reenactors were once invited to Rome by JPII.

After the morning's mass, ceremonies and gift giving the afternoon usually turns to eating and drinking which usually includes a pig roast.

After the Epiphany we have the Octave, which is more celebrating for an additional eight days before the loooong Christmas season finally ends.
