Plenty of archaeological evidence from Egypt...

Moses was a prince in Egypt and was a rival for the throne...

Falwell is a fool - if he doesn't like Kwanzaa, he should ignore it instead of giving it more publicity.

However, Falwell is an attention whore. Why doesn't he do anything about his master's (Rev. Moon) claims that he is the second coming of Christ?

Can you point out any sources of such archeological evidence that demonstrates that Moses was a prince in ancient Egypt?

Approximately 1.6% of this country celebrates Kwaanza (source: a FR Barf Alert thread. Look for it.)

Within 5 years, there will be more people celebrating Festivus -- if there aren't already.

The Story of Moses may be just another African myth -- like Kwanzaa.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Anyone with an ounce of research skill (and the desire) can find out the basis of the modern celebrations of Christmas and Easter. They are pagan celebrations adapted to serve modern christianity, just like the observance of Sunday as the Sabbath. Why people insist on following their forefathers' blind ignorance is something I don't understand.

And the dyslexic atheist says "There is no Dog."

Actually, wouldn't that read "Dog on si ereth" (Dog on the hearth)

Sure, but go look for yourself... people like you are a waste of time...

There are also some who erroneously think Moses was Amenhotep IV (Akhenaton).

Since there is no credible evidence of the mythical event it is reputed to be based upon, Christmas is an illegitimate holiday. The holiday was invented and placed on the calendar to commandeer the millennial long celebration of winter solstice.

There is nothing illegitimate about Christmas, while it actually marks the date of the Holy Conception, what better day, 'winter solstice', shortest day for some of us to remember the day when God came and dwelt --

Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same: That through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

For that matter, for similar reasons, Easter is just as illegitimate because it too is a celebration of a mythical event and was placed on the calendar to commandeer the millennial long celebration of spring equinox.

I have no argument with your take on Easter, cause it is basically what you describe. Not one of the disciples, let alone Christ had anything to do with the 'bunny and egg' rolling.

I am still campaigning for MY holiday, "The Nine Nights of the Nordic Lights."

Keep working at it. You know you're there when Coulter and Falwell write columns against it.

It never ceases to amaze me how people like Coulter and Falwell insist on going out of their way to condemn something that should have absolutely no meaning to them, merely so they can rile up their followers. ,

Maybe they, like many conservatives, realize that these godless based shenanigans are being integrated into the culture and are slowly being FORCED onto everyone. There is a saying in the Bible - " A little leaven leavens the whole lump." God is talking about sin. Maybe Coulter and Falwell recognize that these Godless rituals, slowly forced upon us, will lead us to being a much more Godless society.

You mentioned "archeological evidence" and I asked for sources because I haven't heard of any physical evidence that proves your point. Any archeological evidence (as opposed to literary evidence) would be the find of the century, you understand?

It is very clear that you pulled that statement out of your bacside and are using personal attacks to justify your flights of fantasy.

A waste of time? Sure, the evidence lies in your unsupported nonsense about actual archeological/physical proof.

"But I cannot accept Kwanzaa as a legitimate American holiday."

Who does? Not enough to matter.

I stand corrected. The proponents of Kwanzaa don't claim a mythological origin for the holiday. It was invented solely to give a chosen people a holiday of their own -- just like Christmas and Easter were invented but the proponents of those insist on a mythological origin. At least the Kwanzaa people are more honest.
