My fellow Viet Nam war veterans might be interested in this.

I feel certain you're right.

We won the war. We bombed and mined them into going to Paris.
The democratic controlled congress forced the POTUS's hand in not continueing sufficient money and military aid to the south. It is that simple.
The commies went back on their agreements. Wally Crankcase abused the word quagmire. The rest is history.
Now new generations of dishonorable demorats and main stream media use the same word with much effect.
The rest is history.

Yeah. I guess I should have just said: "Yalta", that would have covered a lot.

I think you are right on the money. I think he didn't act forcefully enough. Some things are the right thing to do, and I would rather lose in 76 than be the guy that let South Vietnam fall to a raggedy force of North Vietnamese after 50,000 Americans lost their lives keeping it out of Commie hands. I remember reading a Time Magazine quote of a South Vietnam citizen, something like "When are the US planes coming?". Time smugly reported that they would not come. I felt humiliated for our country and sorry for that man.

Ford was a good man, and on the day he was buried, I will leave it at that. Don't forget that primary responsibility lay with the dem congress. Ford was just a man not up to the task of taking them on.

We won the war.

Yes we did, Uncle.

But then the Democrats showed up, demanding our defeat.

And they made it happen, and our nation allowed them to.

God help us, if we let them do it again.

NOT THIS TIME, DAMNIT!!!

A HUGE irony that Ford is buried as a Democratic Congress comes aboard.

And with that, I'm off to bed. Sleep tight, don't let the lefties bite.

I nominate Ann Coulter for President! She actually has the b*lls to say what needs to be said. She would certainly give the Hildabeast a run for her money!!!!!!

Now, there's a stretch, even from Miz Kolter.

Not really. They certainly exagerated the "burglarly" to the extreme. So what if the Republicans broke into the Democratic headquarters. The Democrats did the same thing to the Republicans in the 60s, twice IIRC. It really shouldn't have been a big deal, it happened before and probably still happens to this day. Rudy Guilliani's leak this weak was probably caused by a break-in or dirty trick from the Democrats or possibly a Republican trying to eliminate him early in the race.

Anne's sense of history is actually so accurate , I wish we had a university where the real history of the Vietnam era could be taught according to Professor Coulter.

That probably won't happen; but, maybe Ann could write another one of her best sellers on the history of the Vietnam War.

Ann Coulter has more balls than all of Congressional and Senate Republicans put together.

Liberals spent the Vietnam War rooting for the enemy and clamoring for America's defeat, a tradition they have brought back for the Iraq war.

It's true - they were rooting for the enemy and clamoring for America's defeat...

It would have worked, but the Democrats were desperate for America to lose. They invented "Watergate," the corpus delicti of which wouldn't have merited three column-inches during the Clinton years..

Daaaaamn right!

Maybe McGovern should have send in Lt. John F'ing Kerry to defeat Pol Pot since we all know he was secretly boating about in Cambodia during the Holidays.

Bush won't do anything. He is worse than a lame duck. He has bungled this battle in Iraq and does nothing while Iran and Syria kill our soldiers whose hands are tied.

Now it looks like he's going to increase targets, oops, I mean troops. To do what? Not engage the enemy?

Are we fighting a war on terror or are we playing politics?

Close the damn borders, defeat our enemies by all means necessary and tell the Dims and the Euro-weenies to BITE US!

Ford was an elitist GOP member ala Rockefeller, his VP. He listened to Alan Greenspan, his economic advisor, and we got stagflation.

He listened to Kissinger and got defeat.

He now gets praise for pardoning Nixon which is STILL a mistake setting a precedent that all of us are not equal and, yes, some of the elite are above the law. And we now wonder why judges legislate from the bench.

I have no respect for Gerald Ford.
