Nancy Pelosi - 'most powerful Italian since Caesar'
SF Gate ^ | Jan 5, 2006 | Leah Garchik

If Bill Clinton was Elvis, Hillary was the Statue of Liberty, inspired by Pelosi's triumph (more about that in a future story) and welcoming the huddled masses, who were pushing each other out of the way to take pictures with her. At night, we gathered at the National Building Museum for a celebration concert and Democratic Party fundraiser. Filmmaker Peter Kaufman, a friend of Christine Pelosi's, set the tone of the evening's festivities. He quoted someone else he'd heard that day: "She's the most powerful Italian since Caesar.''

"May we call her "La Douche"?"

That has a nice ring to it. Need to keep that ready when
the dirt starts coming out (pun intended) about Pelosi....

Caesar was a Roman. "Italians" didn't exist.

The average Frenchman has just as much right to claim he is a Roman as the average Italian. My moms people are a mixture of several peoples (Greeks, Lombards, Romans, Phoenecians, Visigoths, Spaniards, etc.).

She is about to find out the power of the almighty VETO PEN!!!!!! There are also some very conservative dems in the Senate who are not going to like her San Francisco Political agenda.
Poor Nancy is powerful at least in her own mind. In reality she is going to be very politically frustrated.

With legs like that, you should be thankful she wears pants.

My past-life connection to those in San Francisco reveals those on the streets of San Francisco are singing... "We are the World, We are the Children..."

She's no Caesar

She's no Italian either

She's an American born in Philadelphia who couldn't name a single member of the Italian team.

In fact, I doubt if she knows what "the Italian team" refers to.

That's no Italian.

How quickly they forget all the Italian POPES!

We're dumb, and getting dumber by the minute. Disgraceful!

And we know how it all ended for him...

Oh, I don't know. I'll bet there's a USSC judge of Italian ancestry who could slap her down in a NY minute, if the occasion called for it.

Alito or Scalia?
