A host of stars now make Malibu their home. "Colonyites" (as they call themselves)

Thirty years ago, I rented an office to a very old man who was a "turkey broker" (sold frozen birds). He lived in the Malibu Colony and his assistant would drop by the office occasionally to shoot the breeze. She said the old fart was the envy of his 'star' neighbors because his property was four times the size of any of the others.....'course he'd bought the land in the 1930's or 40's.

LACFD saying 8 structures lost, 5 on fire, many vehicles and lots of infrastructure on fire

This is a wind driven fire, and can jump from one house to another over a good distance. They are trying their best to get a handle on it, and keep it from spreading north and south along the beach.

These homes are right on the beach.

KTLA guy just said it started at 5 PM PST right at Malibu and PCH.
