Hargrove has been a great Hanover County Delegate. His quotes originated from a Charlottesville newpaper interview. It's not as if he stood up in the Va Assembly, pounded his fist on the podium and snarled these opinions with caustic intent. He made these comments in response to a current proposal to use the Jamestown 400th Anniversary as an opportunity to apologize to all blacks and all indians. HE HAS A POINT! It's a bad move only because the Press and the Professionally Aggrieved will misrepresent it. The statement is, in fact, accurate. The current government of the Commonwealth of Virginia is no more responsible for plantation slavery than any currently alive Jews are responsible for the Crucifixion. Less, in fact; if you are a Christian, you'll agree that ALL of us bear some 'responsibility' for Christ's sacrificial death.
