A detailed response to the Scafetta and West paper: http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2006/10/how-not-to-attribute-climate-change/ (I haven't read this in detail however. But the web site realclimate.org is probably the best place for detailed information written by climate scientists who support the doctrine of anthropogenic global warming.)

Simply because there is "A RESPONSE" does not mean that the assertion is incorrect. That is a childish way of thinking. One has to examine the actual substance. A strong point that pulls 1,000 "responses" is unscathed and dominant if the responses fail to undermine the strengh of the assertion. So we don't care if there has been a "response." We care about the substance and the merits of the issue. Here, we have rickety, rube-goldberg contraptions supporting man-made global warming, requiring people to do back-flips and engage in wild unsupported speculation. On the other hand we have solid, hard science showing that the Earth's climate is continually undergoing NATURAL change and so is the sun.

My post 81 was meant as a FYI. I signaled that I didn't necessarily endorse their argument by saying I hadn't read it in detail. I thought it would be useful to post the link as it reflects the opinion of well-informed climate scientists.

Oh, okay. My bad. The more information the better. I guess I am overly-sensitive to the scam that many liberals and even conspiracy theorists engage in. You blow them out of the water with a rhetorical nuclear bomb and -- ignoring the substance -- they say "Oh, that's been answered already."

If you go back and find the "answer" is a lot of drivel. But they insist it's been "answered," and so it has, but it isn't disproven.

That's my knee jerk reaction.

Pluto, Mars and every other satelite of the sun are becoming socialist causes.
