There were two woman on the show being interviwed and I only caught a piece of it.
But the main part was that since 9/11 over 45,000 US citizens have been killed by illigal aliens in the US.
Does anyone know more about this as I am very interested. They said the numbers came from a US Congressman or Senator.
also one person was with the boarder militia group, so there were three people.
I highly doubt that number, but will watch this thread.
The government doesn't keep figures on how many Americans are killed by illegal aliens (gee, I wonder why) so it's impossible to verify that number. I would be leery of it though.
It would be good thing though to start lobbying state and national congressmen for them to start keeping these figures.
The numbers are from Jim Gilchrist. You can see the full quote here: http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.asp?Page=/Nation/archive/200701/NAT20070119a.html
You only caught a part of this but you put it in breaking news? Please...
If illegals cause heart attacks, maybe.
I don't doubt it.
Have no fear, I'm sure someone will come along and point out that legal citizens have killed more so we should ignore the crimes of the illegals.
I heard that, too.....it's 9000 a year......maybe it is true, since it says "killed", not murdered.....including driving related deaths as well as some other categories might easily reach that number
time to charge them with a hate crime for this allegation!
If you include murders, accidents, E. coli poisoning, and shoddy landscaping, you're still pushing it.....
Lol. Since there are about 13,000 murders per year this would mean about 65,000 murders since 911. And this person is claiming 3/4s of all those murders were by Illegals. That takes a lot of swallowing to buy that. But there will be plenty here who will lap it up with glee.
Actually yes they do to some degree. The collect all crime statics from every police department.
And the deaths include all types of deaths including murder.
And it's almost certainly BS or deliberately fabricated.
There about 15,000 murdered in the US a year, roughly...
That's somewhere in the neighborhood of 80,000 since 9/11. That over half of that total would be illegal aliens is ridiculous.
It is time to redeploy out of the United States. /SARCASM
I believe that there are about 20,000 homicides per year in the U.S. 9/11 to present about 100,000. Forty percent by illegals killing 'Mericans sounds high. Not impossible.
People don't show skepticism of things that they WANT to believe.
What people need to understand is that they need to go out of their way to shut up people that share the same cause they do, but that embarass them with false or stupid arguments, or it ends up tarnishing everyone with the same beliefs.
Oh cool thanks.
And I bet that the majority of those Americans who are killed by illegals are gang bangers and thugs who just happen to be American citizens of Latino origin.
Here we go:
Illegal Aliens Waging 'Silent War' on US, Says Minuteman Activist
By Randy Hall
CNSNews.com Staff Writer/Editor
January 19, 2007
(CNSNews.com) - The U.S. is engaged in "a silent war" conducted by illegal aliens that is causing a higher toll than the war in Iraq, according to the founder of an immigration watchdog group.
While the mainstream media is focused on the Iraq war, this ongoing silent war is "taking its toll in lives and domestic tranquility," said Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minuteman Project.
"Since 9/11 alone, about 45,000 U.S. residents have been killed in action via homicide or manslaughter at the hands of illegal aliens, and about another quarter of a million to 300,000 have been wounded," Gilchrist told Cybercast News Service in an interview.
Gilchrist said he used the terms "killed in action" and "wounded" intentionally "because essentially, we have a war going on here that's not a declared war, that's not a conventional war, but it is costing us 9,000 lives a year."
That amounted to "about 15 times the rate of KIAs [soldiers killed in action] in Iraq," he said.
Gilchrist said the financial cost was also significant.
Welfare benefit programs used strictly by the illegal immigration population were costing "$400 billion a year - that's four times the annual cost of the war in Iraq," he argued.
Those funds were being spent on "a plethora of related welfare and benefit-type programs, including medication, education, housing, HUD subsidies, Social Security, all that stuff," Gilchrist said.
"Our coffers are being plundered by those who don't deserve them," he noted. "Those programs were earmarked for American citizens."
He said that figure did not include another half-trillion dollars lost each year "due to payroll and income tax fraud from the underground economy created by having 30 million illegal aliens in the United States."
Gilchrist conceded that not all illegal immigrants were working and that not all who are working were doing so "under the table."
"But a good portion of them are, and because they're staying under the radar, no one knows who they are, where they are or what their intentions are."
Estimates of the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. vary considerably, but the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) said the numbers cited by Gilchrist "sound about right."
On the costs to the U.S. economy of illegal immigration, the CIS estimates federal costs per year at only $10.6 billion but notes that the vast majority of costs are incurred at the local and state levels.
Crime statistics relating to illegal immigrants are hazy, but on his website, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) says that 12 homicides and 13 drunk driving deaths a day are attributed to illegal aliens.
In testimony before the House Judiciary Committee immigration subcommittee in 2005, Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow Heather Mac Donald said that in Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide and up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants in the first half of the previous year targeted illegal aliens.
Representatives from the National Council of La Raza and the National Immigration Forum declined requests for comment on this article.
According to the Americas Project at the Center for American Progress, the U.S. is "making a futile attempt at using Border Patrol agents and physical barriers to regulate our labor market."
"This massive misapplication of resources fails to make us safer and will not be remedied through appeals to fear, symbolism or by throwing good money after bad," project director Dan Restrepo says on the center's website.
"A safer, modern immigration system must combine border and workplace enforcement with mechanisms to regulate future flows of immigrants into our country and allow the 12 million undocumented already here to emerge from the shadows," he added.
Gilchrist, a 56-year-old Marine veteran who received a Purple Heart for wounds sustained during the Vietnam War, founded the Minuteman Project in 2004 after "years of frustrated efforts trying to get a neglectful U.S. government to simply enforce existing immigration laws."
The Minuteman Project describes itself as a "citizens' vigilance operation." Its main activity is to monitor the flow of illegal immigrants across the U.S. border from Mexico, though the group also promotes proactive enforcement of the nation's immigration laws.
As Cybercast News Service previously reported, the group has been opposed by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), which a year ago accused the group of being "racists" and "cowards."
Earlier this month, Brent Wilkes, national executive director of LULAC, told Cybercast News Service that the Minuteman Project consisted of "pretty crazy folks."
Gilchrist dismissed such accusations as "so ridiculous they hardly even merit a reply. If Wilkes would go to my website, he'd see that we're a multi-ethnic - and I repeat, a multi-ethnic - immigration law-enforcement advocacy group."
"My problem is not with legal immigrants. My grandparents were legal immigrants from Greece, Germany and England," he said, adding that charges of racism are "the last resort of a scoundrel losing an argument."
Still, Gilchrist said he sees a hopeful future regarding illegal immigration, in part because "the Minuteman Project is going to force debate on this issue."
"Immigration is still strong in the hearts and minds of Americans, because it goes right to the preservation of our sovereignty," Gilchrist added. "We just want to preserve a civilized society under the rule of law, under the First Amendment. That's the way the Founding Fathers set it up."
Gilchrist also noted another sign of the group's progress. "We've got a guy who wants to start a chapter up in Canada. He'll be the first non-American to be part of the Minuteman Project."
Nah, it's pretty impossible. For example, around here in Maryland, while there is a good sized and growing population of Central Americans who are almost all illegal, the overwhelming majority of the murders are committed by blacks.
They must be including ALL manner of deaths.
This would make sense if you include illegals causing car accidents.
I believe the actual number is closer to 4,500. But definitely more than were killed on 9-11. Over half were by drunk drivers, the others by homicide.
Nowhere in that article does his cite his sources or "show his math."
I don't think even if you somehow included every fatal car accident where an illegal was even one of the parties in the accident, even if they weren't charged with anything, you could possibly get to that number.
Yeah, but we can buy our lettuce cheap.
Well, maybe 45,000 is a large number. But in my book ONE AMERICAN KILLED BY AN ILLEGAL IS ONE TOO DAMNED MANY!!! CLOSE DOWN THE FREAKING BORDERS BUSH!!!
'Nowhere in that article does his cite his sources or "show his math."'
These days that means it was made up, IMO.
Of course not, because he probably pulled it out of ..... the air.
I hear we have 3,000,000 homeless.
And six of every four college coeds are victims of date rape.
This number could possibly include deaths that involve illegals in car accidents.
if even a quarter of that number turns out to be right, it still exceeds the number of Americans killed in the war AND on 9/11......and the fact that the government is trying to hide that number is an outrage.
I'm quite certain that this claim is total bulls**t. And I'll bet that the proportion of "killers" among illegals is about the same as that among legals.
There's a difference between trying to hide a number and simply not bothering to collect or record it.
Even if you look at roughly 50,000 automobile deaths a year, considering the large swaths of the country where there are almost no illegals, the number of those accidents that are just reckless kids or drunkards killing themselves -
I honestly don't think you can realistically get to 45,000 since 9/11 adding that auto number to murders by illegals.
IIRC, I read somewhere that the number is incorrect as it was based on a study that said like 25 percent of the people in FEDERAL prison for murder are non-US citizens. This percentage was then applied to the general population of US prison, and further applied to take all "non-US citizens" as illegal aliens, which is not necessarily the case.
IIRC, the percentage of non-citizens in the US (local) prison population is substantially lower... that's not even counting only the illegal immigrants. I'll have to look it up, but I don't have time right now.
"if even a quarter of that number turns out to be right,"
Don't miss my point. I'm a hard opponent of illegal immigration but I'm a fan of provable facts to back me up. Without that, it's just some guy talkin'.
A lot of what the feds do is an outrage. If I felt like I had equal rights in this country, I wouldn't be moving from my home state.
its 12 a day or 13k in 3 years.. can't be 45k but its still a scandal worth impeaching over.
The numbers are from Jim Gilchrist. >>>>>>>>>>>>
Here are simlar numbers from Congressman Steve King (R, IA)....dated April 2006
Over 19,000 Americans have died a violent death at the hands of murderous illegal aliens since 9/11 (12 a day).*
Over 20,000 Americans have died at the hands of uninsured drunk driving illegal aliens since 9/11 (13 a day).*
Over 13,000 American children are the victim of a sex crime at the hands of illegal aliens since 9/11 (8 a day).*
Less than 7,000 Americans have died on 9/11 and after due to terrorism, including those who died fighting terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan.
What is the bigger threat to Americans today, terrorist thugs or illegal aliens?

The number sounds a bit inflated to me, although drunk illegals have certainly been taking out a good number of neighbors and townsfolk around here, at a rather alarming rate. Last incident was a mother and her daughter coming back from a church event, a couple of months ago.
Whatever the case, the death-count number caused by illegals is every bit as legitimate as the death-count from 9/11. And, personally, I regard every one of these pro-amnesty, open-borders proponents (even found on these FR boards; gag) as being complicite in those deaths caused by illegals.
And oranges too
Wanna buy a bridge?
I checked the source and he doesn't mention any of those stats - at least on that page. Perhaps it is on a different one.
You got it, it is way too dangerous.
They're just doing the job that no one else wants to do.
They are actually doing better the the REAL terrorists!
The latest stat I could find was for 2004 and a number of 16,100 murders for that year.
The numbers mentioned were probably extrapolated from different numbers government keeps ie: 1/3 of prison inmates in California are illegals. I am sure they added in the number of automobile accident deaths caused by illegals.
If you look at all the numbers the figure may be inflated but the actual number itself can still be huge.
then we are actually agreeing, because I too am nervous about these numbers.
But the fact is we need to somehow figure out how to get at the right numbers, because they are going to become an issue.....and I hate the idea of the liberals being able to claim a victory by "exposing" bogus numbers when the real ones could be bad enough.
