Popular films ranging from Hollywood blockbusters to children's cartoons are depicting "crude and exaggerated" stereotypes of Muslims and perpetuating Islamophobia

First of all, "phobia" means "an inordinate FEAR of ..." Hostility to muslims is not FEAR of muslims; it's hatred.

Secondly, popular films are not perpetuating hatred of muslims. Hijacking jetliners and flying them into buildings is. Beheading people on tape is. Blowing up busloads of blind orphan children is. Beating wives and screwing camels is. Bombing planes, trains, and automobiles is. Rejoicing at the deaths of innocents is. Hypocrisy and incessant demands for jihad are.

In short, the only thing perpetuating a hatred of islam is islam.

"perpetuating Islamophobia"

Of course, random acts of terrorism directed against unsuspecting citizens don't promote Islamophobia. Attacking other people's religions doesn't promote Islamophobia. Calling for the death of Americans and the destruction of America doesn't promote Islamophobia.

Why don't these complainers and their little PC allies shut up and move back to the Middle East?

Nobody seems to concerned about Hollywood coming down on conservatives, Republicans, Christians, or the Sopranos.
