My aunt and uncle sent this out to our family at 6:30 AM today. Carrie is my young cousin, a very gifted artist, and the second eldest among her siblings. She and her family are in Michigan.
Prayer reqeust from my aunt and uncle (Carrie is their granddaughter).
This morning on her way to work Carrie's car slid on the highway and into a tree. She has very bad injuries, especially to her head. Her brain is swelling and she is now in surgery. They plan to open her skull to allow for the swelling, and she is not responding. They don't give her parents a lot of hope. We are telling everyone so you can join us in praying for our dear Caroline. They called her parents about 7:45 this morning and they're at the hospital now.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.Dear family and Friends of Caroline,
Boy, things were looking great this afternoon. M had taken Carrie to have a physical before the operation planned for tomorrow morning. They weren't gone for long and returned with good news of no problems to prevent the scheduled replacement of the skull piece in her head that was removed the day of the accident to allow her brain to swell. This evening M took her temperature and it was elevated and her heart rate was about 130. She advised the doctors of this condition and the operation was put off until a later date. We have no date scheduled at this time.
We don't know what difference having her skull in one piece will have on her recovery but we would all like to see it accomplished so we have a whole little girl.
We ask you for your continued prayers for Carrie and her family. M and D have been a tower of strength throughout this ordeal and they need your prayers also.
Thank you so much for the updates. Carrie remains in my prayers and thoughts. I know it is a disappointment about the surgery as the family must be anxious to see her as she once was, but she is obviously in good and careful hands.
Prayers continue. Thank you for the updates, as always.
Continued prayers for Carrie’s recovery.
I’m kind of like a bulldog in the tenacity department. ;-)

The Bulldog’s original job was no easy task: to bait, throw and pin the bull [my translation: an opposing, and much larger, force]. ...
... We are able to see the Bulldog as it appeared in its historical context: a pugilistic-looking dog built low to the ground with a configuration able to absorb the punishment inflicted by an angry bull. For as the tenacious dog clamped its correctly shaped and powerful jaws onto the muzzle or nose of the beleaguered bull, the dog’s body was subjected to tremendous trauma as the mighty animal struggled to free itself. The proper Bulldog front-end assembly, which encased the correct rib cage, was all-important to the survival of the dog as it was banged back and forth by the bull.
Well, I’m sure when it’s God’s time, it’ll be the right time.

Oh, my...I am sorry to hear that there will be a delay. I know that they had to go through a lot just to get to this point..the physical and all.
Bless her heart, Carrie is a fighter...and she will make it, but I think God is going to need to provide much patience and comfort to those around her. I suppose He knows the “right” time for all things.
Thanks for the update, Gretchen...prayer continuing for you, as well, my friend.

Thanks Gretchen. God answers prayers - just this week He helped out a little friend of mine I was asking Him to heal, and it’s an honor to be part of Carrie’s prayer family. In faith, I thank God for healing Carrie, and for giving us hope.
That is AWESOME. Thanks for telling us.
Sorry to hear of this setback, Gretchen.
I’m praying in the name of Jesus that Carrie’s temp will go down so she can have her surgery soon.
Peace to you, Gretchen.
Thank you for the updates. Prayers continue...
