Compared to other forms of alternative technology (hydrogen, ethanol, etc.), it's far and away the best. It doesn't require government subsidy, it doesn't require any infrastructure changes to gas stations or roadways, and it doesn't require any extra upkeep. Compared to a conventional gasoline car, there is no difference from the driver's perspective. They are VERY effective at increasing MPG for city driving, and while I admit it's not a huge difference for highway driving, it's still an improvement. As for the "superior attitude donned by most owners", that's an easy statement to make, but a much harder one to prove. For the sake of argument, let's say it is true. So what? Is that the car's fault? I agree that self-righteous environmentalists are extremely obnoxious, but this is one case where they actually have a point. That's something I tell environmentalists...they make so many noises and talk so much BS that it's easy to dismiss a good idea because it's associated with environmentalism. Knee-jerk environmentalism and knee-jerk anti-enviornmentalism are both problems. People need to do their own research and draw their own conclusions. That's the ultimate problem with American politics, for both liberals and conservatives - it's much easier to buy into hysteria or outrage than to actually do some thinking.

Again, the fun with hybrids centers more on the owners than the car itself. They are free to act like elitist snobs and we are free to make fun of them. That's what the show is about. As for the "efficiency" of hybrids, just wait until you need a drive train repair, or have to replace the battery pack, or when there is an environmental disposal fee just to get rid of an old hybrid car or even battery. Not to mention the many articles that note how hybrids rarely achieve their window sticker MPG. I am not anti-hybrid, but they're saving the world about as much as "yellow is mellow, brown goes down".

If you read the WorldNetDaily's article on "Dis a gay" and the impending thought police H.R. 254 bill which will be used to jail Christians, you will be as alarmed as I am that 'some day' is just about here!!

Add me to the 'Haven't seen "24"' list.

Me too, but with kids, I have seen every episode of That's So Raven, Spongebob and Phil of the Future, over, and over, and over...

24 does some of that every season. And a lot of non-muslim coordination with jihadists in their domestic terrorist attacks.

And the "need" to end it a cliffhanger every episode just gets old.

SNL has sucked for years yet people still watch it (and the politics have become more prominent than ever).

Doesn't mean that people should watch weak comedy from conservatives, just saying that the bar is set pretty low.

I had never watched 24 until this Christmas. I picked up the first season on DVD to see what all the fuss was about. I am hooked. I am now on the 4rth season on DVD.

Is this the one portraying a President Limbaugh and VP Coulter?

Boy, don't I wish!!! I'd grin ear to ear for 8 years straight if those two were our Pres and VP.

I think it will be good. Liberals do not watch or listen to anything connected with Republicans. In fact, I have heard college students say on tv, Republican like it was worse than a curse word.

I'm no liberal, but lately I've been saying "Republican" like it's a curse word.

Here is how to watch 24.

Get a six pack, a twelve pack for the two hour versions.

Every time Chloe makes a snarly face, you drink a shot.
Every time she actually bitches someone out, you drink the whole thing.
Every time Jack Bauer says, "Do it":, a shot.
Every time anyone gets tortured, you drink a bottle and go pee (its nasty sometimes.)
Evey time Jack shoots someone, another shot.
Every time Jack kills someone, the whole she-bang.
Everytime that computer guy (not Morris) does something whiney, or the President's sister is on, you drink the beer, toss the empty at the TV (which is why cans are better) and scream at them to get back to the action.
Whenever Jack's father does something creepy (like kill his son) you drink the can, throw it at the TV and scream "That'll do pig!"

That is is how you watch 24.

I skipped a number of races in Texas altogether last election and voted for Kinky Friedman over the RINO (former Dem) governor.

The party is subverted.

We need better candidates in the primaries.

My husband and I hadn't watched "24" either, totally fed up w/network programming as so liberally slanted or totally inane, that we only see shows on cable that appeal to us or some 24 hr. News shows (hint: NOT CNN, CNBC, PMSNBC, so that leaves FNC, but only certain programs there).

I digress, while out shopping, my husband noticed an entire first year of 24 for $19.95 and thought he'd pick it up, just to see what Rush has been raving over for 5 years. We began the DVD, after having other things to do on a Sat. night, about 9:30-10:00 p.m. We agreed to finally turn it off around 2:30 a.m. as we needed to get up for church around 7:00 a.m.!

Since then, we have rented every additional season, finishing season 5 last night.

WOW what a show, is all I can say. I would give my eye teeth to have a Jack Bauer in my corner, i.e. at the airport when being forced to throw away 1/2 oz. of prescription eye drops, etc.

Rent a show, just one and like the old potato chip ad, "You can't watch just one."
