Liberalism MUST BE DEFEATED!

Rudy's a liberal, please explain how do you defeat liberalism with a liberal?

... Please complain by sending a self-abused stomped elephant. That has to be one of the funniest lines I've ever read at FreeRepublic! The left is loving this circle firing squad instituted two years before the election. Why do I smell Dick Morris in the air?

If the far left hates Hitlery, it's because of her past vote to authorize the war in Iraq. Given that motive, they will never back Rudy, unless he takes an all-out antiwar position. I wouldn't put it past him--he was supposedly a McGovern enthusiast at one time--but he will wait until after the election, to fool the Republican base.

You have no clue about Evangelicals. No one cares if Rudy goes to the conference or does not! No whining except from your ilk.

Liberalism MUST BE DEFEATED!

Then why would we want to vote Giuliani? Liberalism must be defeated, not dressed up in a Republican suit and elected.

Why would Rudy go? Evangelicals say they would rather have Hillary.

24 Hour News Helps Hillary, Rudy

Dick Morris and Eileen McGann
Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007

Excerpt:

The nominees for the 2008 presidential race will be selected in 2007. The tempo of the new political process, driven by 24-hour cable news, bloggers, conservative talk radio, and liberal NPR is so rapid that the nomination race cannot exist in stasis waiting for Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina to get around to holding their votes in early 2008.

Back, before children, when I worked in marketing. Any and all news coverage is free advertising.

2008 has been made a soap opra. Tabloid news. A greek frat event.

A person who throws a fit and refuses to go to the polls because Rudy is the pres candidate nominee, thus insuring that democrats get elected to the other offices, is not to be taken seriously anyway. We in Tennessee show folks how to split a ticket ... if Rudy is on the ballot as the Pubbie nominee (and he may yet be an independent in waiting), we Tennessee Republicans will vote every spot on the ticket but may leave the prez choice blank.

No one is threating to vote third party. We simply are not going to vote for Rudy, who still has not declared or filed the necessary papers. Get a grip!

"Proving, I think, that the evangelicals might be the single most immature voting block in the country."

absolutely right, how immature to reject a candidate who is against one's deepest values and spiritual convictions. A mature person would dump their faith and values and blindly vote purely based on party in hope of worldly gain.

Evangelicals are whining because they are not having their asses kissed?

I'm not an Evangelical, but if I was I might be looking for at least a peck considering your boy was more than happy to kiss the asses of every radical pro-abortion and homosexuals rights group he could stick his lips on.

Comparing Rudy to Ronald Reagan is practically blasphemous. Besides, Reagan drew lots of Catholics and other Democrats despite his conservatism. I can't see why any serious Catholic would be enthusiastic about Rudy at all, and people who are not enthusiastic often just don't bother to vote.

And, what about the stupid women that vote for a candidate because he is "cute"?

For all the hype and high poll numbers, Rudy's a non-starter. He won't get the religious conservatives and he won't get the gun owners and between them you've got half the Republican party.

BTW, I actually like Rudy, but just not as a president. I think he'd make a great senator, governer or cabinet secretary, but I'll vote third party before I vote for a gun grabber.

First, the author assumes missing a meeting means Rudy is dissing the "religious right." Other than this he has no statement or action of Rudy to substantiate that claim.

Second, since when does Robertson, Falwell or Dobson speak for all, or a majority, of Evangelicals? A faulty conclusion based on leftist fantasies as to what is or what is not and Evangelical. Leftists usually ascribe lock step and goose step behavior from Evangelicals because they know not one.

Third, why worry? The primaries are coming early and fast next year. Perhaps even California will be moved up. Campaigning six months in the snow and ice of Iowa and New Hampshire is about to be a thing of the past.

Fourth, anyone who dislikes what the majority of the primary voters decide can stay home or not vote for President. No one is obliged to definitely cater to any voting block's needs. On the contrary, political parties that succeed are broad based and not single issue efforts.

"Why would Rudy go? Evangelicals say they would rather have Hillary."

That's not why he won't go. It's because he might be faced with some very embarrassing questions about his well-established positions. Questions for which he has no defensible answer. I doubt he will confront the NRA types either.

Kinda funny but a lot of us "anti Rudy" people actually find him quite likeable. We just don't want to find him in the oval office.
