An effective Federal prosecutor..he was one.
I never vote for former prosecutors. Too sleazy, expedient.

try to find any such article where Mr. Giuliani is doing something that anyone would consider manly Rudy's a metrosexual? So if the Shepard Smiths of the world outnumber the hard right he would potentially have the votes? Interesting......

I oppose Giuliani on many issues. Probably the same ones you object to. However, he is not "Liberal slime." He stood up to the slime Lieberals in NYC for 8 years. He was called "Adolf Ghouliani" and compared to Hitler for saying that taxpayers money should not go to support the Christian bashing art exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. He stood strong for law and order when the NY DemonRats fought against it. He opposed honoring Arafat at a time when the bloody red carpet was rolled out for him by gutless politicians in Washington. He cleaned up Times Square which had been a human sewer for years. Those things were Conservative policies which he managed to accomplish in the face of extreme opposition from real "Liberal slime." It's ironic that Giuliani is being called a RINO, a "traitor to the cause," yet he did more to advance the cause of Conservatism in NYC than any Mayor in recent history. The thanks he gets is to be called a RINO and a Liberal slime. I oppose Giuliani's Liberal policies on abortion and gun control, but I will never treat him with the kind of disrespect that many of my fellow Conservatives are doing now.

The rudy supporters will paint over all of this with a hitlery brush, but these statements of facts will continue to bleed through. Will not get my vote whatsoever. How any conservative could vote for this LIBERAL is beyond me.

You said,
"One would have to be comatose not to recognize the cultural war raging within the GOP--the next couple of years could be the death of the Grand Old Party. With Rudy, it will continue (at an accelerated rate) the 'morphing' from the conservative 'Grand Old Party',,,,to,,,,the liberal 'Gay Old Party'.

I will get back to you on this, LtdGovt.
Another Freeper and I went through a list of 10 specific issues a while back, and I came up with a "conservative score" of 1.5 out of 7 -- with 3 incompletes -- on these 10 issues. That translates to about 21%.

The difference between those who would vote for Rudy in the general election and those who would not, is that the former group understands the importance of the war on terror. If you are going to make a statement like that, you have to come up with one or both of the following: 1) a list of specific measures Rudy Giuliani has either implemented or proposed that are aimed at winning the so-called "war on terror," and 2) clear evidence that Rudy Giuliani is the only one with the ability and/or desire to win this "war."

Actually sounds plausible, especially as a SWAG.
Did you run the same numbers against Hillery?, Obama?
If so, how did they rank?
My guess about 5%.

Honestly, will you support Hillary rather than him if he wins the nomination? Just in case this wasn't made clear in my "screed" . . .
If the two major candidates in 2008 turn out to be Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani, then I really don't give a rat's @ss who the next president is.

I'm not talking about the primary, but about the general election. I don't need to prove that Rudy is better than, let's say, Romney on the WOT. I just need to prove that he is better than Hillary, which is not uncontested.
