Dennis Miller coming to talk radio
DennisMillerRadio ^ | 2/27/07 | raccoonradio/Dennis Miller

Posted on 02/27/2007 8:52:35 AM PST by raccoonradio

He pitches his show. "I'm part libertarian, part objectivist, part conservative. I'm not a liberal but I don't hate liberals like some hosts do, as most of my best friends are liberals. I'm no longer liberal because I wanted to stop my sentences one word short of the word 'but'..."

starts March 26. It MIGHT be on 9-noon Eastern. Not sure. That's the news, and I...am...outta here.

"Our overall legal system? Deeply troubled. There's a group of overweight Americans right now who want to sue the Big 3 automakers. They say the seatbelts won't fit around their waists and thus puts them in harm's way....I don't have anything against fat people, but if you can't get the seat belt around your waist, a head-on collision is the LEAST of your concerns."

Good development, but when does Mark Steyn take the plunge?

He knocked it out of the park subbing for Rush a while back, and for Hugh Hewitt back in November. I suspect if he wants it, it's there for him, and I also think he would quickly become a top 5 conservative talk radio guy.

Indeed, I think the most vulnerable of the top guys is Hannity - if Steyn got 3-6pm EST, he could give his insights on many of he events of the day and really expose Hannity for the lightweight that he is.

O'Reilly is a populist, not a centrist. Sometimes he's watchable and sometimes he's out there.

Dennis Miller is completely different. He's not bound to support any which side, he just seems to be more apt to support the side that includes personal responsibility.

And he's funny. (No, really?) LOL

Boring and not one bit funny either.

Dennis Miller = Poor mans Bill Buckly..

Some might say Miller is the modern equivalent (and it's Buckley not Buckly).:)

No offense to Todd Feinburg but I'd rather hear Dennis Miller...

In Boston WTKK is kind of the 'affiliate' for Westwood One
shows: Imus, Bill O'Reilly, Monica Crowley (and before,
Ron Insana) so maybe they'd get offered Dennis first. Wouldya rather hear Dennis or Barnicle/Michael Graham? Obvious.
(And keep in mind I read on a radio messageboard that the show would air 9-noon, but I don't know for sure).

TalkRadioNetwork syndicates Ingraham, who's on WTKK (also
WCRN Worcester and even WNSH in Beverly) as well as
Savage (WRKO)

"I'm part libertarian, part objectivist, part conservative. I'm not a liberal but I don't hate liberals .... as most of my best friends are liberals. I'm no longer liberal ...."

Subbing for Sean Hannity a few years back, Miller opened the show by saying, he was a stauch pro-choice, pro-gay liberal, who saw to problem with high taxes and would support even higher taxes upwards of 50%-60%.

That doesn't sound libertarian or conservative to me. Sounds like typical liberalism.

Whatever. In this day and age being a person of conviction, principle and integrity means very little.

I'd love it if they could. Even if they ran him tape delayed at night somehow, but I don't know if they'd get rid of
Savage (and for the most part it'll be Sox games and then
delayed Savage at night...)

Hes part this part that.....too much parts and not enough substance. Dennis will bomb, social conservatives listen to talk radio. A pro war talk head who believes that we dont have any individual rights will not go over well.

If he's for higher taxes there's no way he's conservative.

btw if you want an example of someone who's not solidly left or right note the following from the website of Talk
Radio Network's Tammy Bruce (who fills in on occasion for her TRN colleague Laura Ingraham):

"Tammy Bruce is an openly gay, pro-choice, gun owning, pro-death penalty, voted-for-President Bush authentic feminist. A lifelong Democrat, in the 1990s she worked to help elect Senators Feinstein and Boxer, and aided the Clinton for President campaign. Before we knew he was a sexual compulsive and "did not have sexual relations with that woman."

yikes!

9-noon Eastern I believe. The post I read on radio-info.com's News board had someone speculating the show might air at night, but someone on the thread replied:

>>His show is on 9-12AM EST. Beck, Ingraham and Boortz are his main competition.

I haven't always liked Dennis, but lately, since he is revealing more conservative logic, he has become very clever and funny.

He seems very well suited as a comical talking head.

I wish him luck. He might just become a hit. Especially in California where the Liberal insanity NEEDS to be made fun of.

Though Wikipedia says:

>>The Dennis Miller (Radio) Show

In January 2007, Miller signed a deal with Westwood One to launch a three-hour talk radio program. [14] The program is scheduled to debut March 26, 2007, and will air live from 10am to 1pm Eastern Time, with re-feeds from 1pm to 4pm Eastern Time and 4pm to 7pm Eastern Time. [15]
