So do the wounded soldiers have their First Amendment rights back yet?

Please clarify or provide the link to that story.

I haven't heard anything about that.

Thanks

BREAKING NEWS
Updated: 9 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - The Army said Thursday that the two-star general in charge of Walter Reed Army Medical Center has been relieved of command following disclosures about inadequate treatment of wounded soldiers.

Maj. Gen. George W. Weightman, who was commanding general of the North Atlantic Regional Medical Command as well as Walter Reed hospital, was relieved of command by Army Secretary Francis J. Harvey.

In a brief announcement, the Army said service leaders had “lost trust and confidence” in Weightman’s leadership abilities “to address needed solutions for soldier outpatient care” at Walter Reed.

Good or Bad, he is ultimately responsible for all within his Command.

It would be interesting to compare the offices of this general versus some of the rooms and conditions wounded verterans had to endure.

The outpatient care center was a disaster. They had mold growing on the walls, broken windows, exposed steam pipes in the rooms. The story last week was that the Commander was aware of the problems and did nothing.

Based on what I've read today about WRMC officials knowing about the slum/bureaucracy problem for at least three years, I think Kevin Kiley needs to get the boot as well.

"...First Amendment rights back"

Never taken away...just remember, with 'rights' come responsibilities...can talk all ya' want, but better be ready to deal with consequences

It was a complete disgrace and horrible situation for our brave wounded, who deserve our best. Not only removal, but court martial this SOB.

See links in my post #14. When seriously injured soldiers are relying on the army to provide their medical care, and the same army is ordering them not to talk to the media about appalling conditions in the hospital, and actively interfering with their attempts to do so, their First Amendment rights may still exist philosophically, but they don't exist in reality.

Thank you.

Despicable way to treat the wounded.

Let's not get carried away here...WRAMC did a lot of very good work under his charge. They just didn't pay attention to this less-critical facility and the ComPost blew it in their faces and embarassed the Army.
