It's a printer, scanner, copier (color and b&w) and a photo printer and a fax machine (sort of).
I used to hate HP as well. The Pavilion series of PC was absolute drek. But as I said they've made a lot of changes to their consumer electronics division and the stuff is redesigned and really quite good. The prices are excellent as well. Certainly worth a look.
The neat thing about the C4180 is that it will accept Compact Flash cards, Memory Sticks, SD cards, MMC cards, and XD cards (See the slots in the front on the left side?). This means you can load, edit and print photos...even onto 4x6 glossy paper...without even turning on your PC. So it's just like taking your digital camera memory stick down to the local Walmart...or wherever...to print your photos.
Same goes for the copier. Just stick the doc or pic onto the glass plate and hit the copy button.
It will act as a fax but you need to use the Windows fax wizard in conjunction with the HP software to scan and send a doc. If it's pre-existing, the doc can be sent from within Word or whatever app you are using.
My humble apologies, sir. Profuse and humble.
I saw the post #91 with the offending remark before it was removed by the AMs. I thought for certain I had copied the screen name from the proper post but apparently, my broadside went slightly astray.
I frequently go into BestBuy to look at items that I then order from newegg or zipzoomfly. I consider BestBuy as the showroom for superior online vendors.
Arrrgggghhh....your apology is gratefully accepted.....Pirates code and all.....
Good consumer strategy!

Re: Charging for "free" gift.
Good news. I got a reply saying they took of the card, and an apology.
Great. I am betting that they are counting on their customers not complaining. And many may not.
All part of the game.
