Has the Navy ever come up with a substitute for Vieques?

LOL, caught that too, lamestream trying to paint the quintessential, down to earth, common sense, Currier and Ives All-American state.

Known for picturesque autumn foliage, colonial inns, maple sugar and old-fashion dairy farms...And a whole bunch of dumbass liberals...

Now it is North Korea with cows.
Too bad we can't surround it with barbed wire, landmines, and interlocking fields of fire.

Our friends in Italy and Japan can get all that tony, elite stuff on their own lira or yen respectively.
My gifts were regional specialties you cannot easily get in Europe or Japan: maple syrup, berry preserves, cheese, and buttermilk pancake batter. They were hardly pricey. (Actually, due to their weight, the international postage cost more than the gift boxes did.)
Not buying there won't make much of a difference individually, but every little bit helps (or hurts, as the case may be). Either way, they have a right to express their opinions and I have a right not to patronize their industries because I don't like their opinions.
The Dixie Chicks say they disrespected the President for a cheap laugh among foreigners. Despite their subsequent lionization by the left wing and entertainment elites, they have discovered that thoughtless words have real consequences. As far as I am concerned, Vermont can drown in maple syrup and cheese as a consequence of their left wing political grandstanding, however meaningless the real effects.

I feel the same. If I were made a gift of Dixie Chicks music, I would go straight to the nearest CD Exchange and sell it...or at least, try to!

That would never pass constitutional muster. Impeachment = Cheney as POTUS.

"When I was a kid, Vermont was a solidly conservative state of hardworking folks"
...my wife grew up in Middlebury in the 60's and 70's. Her Father was a socialist from the word go. Graduate of Dartmouth, gave away any "extra" money to the "poor". Left his daughter with nothing when he died the SOB. 2 of her 3 brothers are die hard socialists living in Portland, ME and Boston. The 3rd is a retired Army LtCol and is hated by his brothers. Going up there to visit is painful at best. "The Doctor is In" bumper stickers everywhere(Howard Dean)Sickening State. Especially downtown Burlington.

How can they impeach someone when they (Congress) overwhelmingly approved the President's use of force in Iraq..????
Boggles the mind.

I grew up in New Hampshire and spent some time in Vermont. It was always liberal but these days they are over the top. My brother lives there now and I don't know how he does it. He does have a group of friends that are conservative. When they get together for a drink it must be therapy for them all. I do like Vermont Cheddar cheese and don't mind buying it when I get a chance. I know that dairy farmers are most likely not liberals.
To: Froufrou
I do not understand what point this serves, why don't they get on with actual work and stop this nonsense.
To: albie
My brother says his favorite bumper sticker in Vermont is "spread manure don't pack it", that he saw on some farmer's truck.
