If you believe that, you are either certifiably insane or living in Bizzaro World.

Rudy is not ideal, but if he is the Republican nominee, he has my vote. The same goes for John McCain (whom I personally despise), Duncan Hunter (whoever he is), Newt Gingrich (who is way too smart to be a POTUS candidate) or Mitt Romney (whatever his position of the day turns out to be).

Remember: The enemt of the "good" is not the bad. It is the perfect. There are no perfect Rep candidates. But, the worst they have to ofer is way better than the best the socialists have to offer.

LOL. What I notice, more than a common element among those candidates, are shared traits among the ragers. Their small mindedness is becoming nearly legendary and thanks to their spamming the threads with pictures of Rudy in drag, FR is referred to as a transexual site.

President GW Bush is a GREAT man and GREAT President!!!!

If another conservative never enters the White house again, it will be you $#@& bleeping fools that voted for Rudy that will be to blame.

If Rudy was to ever be elected...we would never ever see another pro life Christian in the White House again. There would be no turning back.

Why is it that you want Dr Dobson,Tony Perkins and REAL CHRISTIANS out of the party? This is what I don't understand.

AND WHO IN HECK TOLD YOU PEOPLE THAT A PRO LIFER COULD NOT WIN THE WHITE HOUSE?

Santorum is saying Giuliani is doing a good job shopping for the conservative vote. That is all that is said here.

But that's not correct, Calpernia. Santorum said that Rudy did a good job governing as a conservative. That's a big, big difference.

You know FR is in trouble when it posts more photos of Guliani in a dress then it does of Ann Coulter...at least the Mayor had some curves.

Rudy knows how to lead the whole country not just some bible thumpers from KY.

As a bible thumper from KY - I resemble that remark! :-)

In all seriousness, the disdain & disgust that reeked out of your remark disturbs me. I've heard similar remarks from people like Cindy Sheehan & her friends, not to mention Bill Maher, Al Franken & Rosie O-Donald. I've also heard fellow freepers, yourself included, make such remarks.

Gosh, if the republican party is going to start insulting me because of my religion & where I come from - what's the point of me being there? I can go to the next Code Pink meeting and get that kind of treatment.

I remember when I first found Free Republic - it was like a breath of fresh air to be able to share my views with like-minded people. The air's not so fresh around here lately. I respect your support of Guiliani, I will not make fun of your religion & what part of the country you hail from. I won't take myself down to that level.

Y'all have a nice day.

Former Reagan aide and longtime conservative activist Charlie Gerow says he sees a tremendous groundswell of support for Giuliani, even among hardcore conservatives whose support for him might surprise some people.

"I think that the No. 1 reason why conservatives are saying that they like Rudy is they think that he is a winner and they want to win in 2008," Gerow says. "They also believe that he is with them on the issues that truly matter."

Exactly.

Here is the quote from the article.

>>>Santorum, known nationally for his social conservatism, says Giuliani does a good job of reminding people how he governed as a conservative on crime, welfare and taxes in New York City.<<<

'Reminding' people.

Santorum didn't say he governed as. Santorum said Giuliani reminded people how he governed as.

That game gets played both ways, Alice. I've been condemned for my support of Rudy because I'm an Anglican. And it's been done by some people who say they are Evangelical.

In the 2000 election cycle alone Hunter raking in almost $200,000 from defense industries...surely he could afford one trip to the Mens Warehouse. Then again, he recently slipped to number two behind Murtha in defense contributions so many he's holding onto the bucks.

You can always vote for the 'Rat nominee and get the same result.

If that is your belief, it shows you are really pushing for your 'rat candidate.

Interpretation of your post... "Hey, people, we can give you the same results if you vote for "us" on the other side of the aisle."

I realize that. Your post I was responding to said that Santorum was saying that Rudy was doing a good job shopping for the conservative vote.

If Rick didn't believe that Rudy was doing what he said he did, govern as a conservative, I think Rick is would have found a way to articulate that.

He could have used words like pander. He could have tried to deconstruct Rudy's fiscal conservative record in NYT. But Rick didn't do that.

If you believe that, you are either certifiably insane or living in Bizzaro World.

You are only displaying your utter ignorance with claptrap like that. You don't know a damn thing about me.

That sounds like you're more a robot who obeys it's political masters, instead of a free thinking intelligent human being.

Remember: The enemt of the "good" is not the bad. It is the perfect. There are no perfect Rep candidates. But, the worst they have to ofer is way better than the best the socialists have to offer.

And that is the kind of convenient justification that led to the stellar second term of President Gerald Ford, and the amazing eight years of President Bob Dole. It was the sense of being resigned to letting whoever was annointed as the 'inevitable' nominee just have their way with the GOP, as a drunken sailor has their way with a harlot on the waterfront.

Speaking of the eight years of the Dole Presidency...compare them to the eight years of the buchanan (purist) presidency.
