What word would you use to describe someone who makes such pledges to a foreign government?

Bush is selling out our country and our Constitution because of his weak will on this issue.

Bush has been in support of his guest worker program for some time--way before this tour.
However, it is Congress that makes laws, not the president (though sometimes the courts seem to think that they can make laws......).

It's the job of Mexico's president to address the issue of helping Mexicans achieve a prosperous way of living, not President Bush.

Always best to do these kinds of things after you no longer have to run for reelection.

"Sell Out!"
I guess all Mexican Truck Drivers will be ipsofacto citizens.
From another thread:
Under President Bush, conservatism has won only in the sense of not losing as quickly as it would have under a President Gore or a President Kerry.

Well, Lonewacko, its obvious that you just don't understand political reality. You see, as long as a politician has the proper letter (R) by his name then it doesn't matter what he says or does. Winning is what counts, not what the candidate stands for. /sarc off

5 years after 9-11 and Bush is still unwilling to secure our borders and enforce existing immigration laws. Some "War on Terror."
Disgraceful. He should resign.

Slap in the face.
Who ever said Mexicans don't have "family values?"
Bush calling Americans bigots again.
He'll say and do anything to get his wage depression policies enacted.

Hey George...you left your backbone at home again!! Need to put it on your "to pack" list. A mere $20 billion he knows goes across the border freely and non-taxed while Americans also foot the bills for food, shelter, health, etc. while they invade our country. Amazing that our President doesn't see what is wrong with this picture!!! He is breeding the closing of eyes to moral and ethical living as well as promoting unlawful behavior.
But, take out the US wallet you brought and throw more money at the problem as you are a government employee and not a private business person struggling to keep up with tax burdens.

Just selling out the America that the other Presidents didn't sell out.

President Bush is making me look forward to the 2008 presidential election. I just hope that his plans for making it easier for Aliens Illegal or Otherwise to come here are shot down before he gets to implement the program.
I just don't trust President Bush on the Immigration issue any longer and consider his plan a scheme to pardon the 20 million criminal aliens that are here already and make them citizens.
