This has to be one of the biggest disgraces of all time when it comes to the music industry. There are about 200 acts who should be in there ahead of the trash that currently sits right now.

Wenner is a bi-sexual hardcore liberal who hates rock/metal and has turned down the idea of ever letting bands such as Rush, Genesis, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and KISS to name a few...saying "They don't stand a chance in hell of getting in while I am alive"

I did a double take at that, too. DP is one of my all-time favorite bands. Blackmore and Gillan are not in the ROCK hall of fame?!?

That so called hall of fame doesn't deserve those bands, especially my beloved Rush!

I must say I DO remember Wenner going to bat for the J. Geils Band when (if memory serves) Dave Marsh gave "Love Stinks" a bad review in Rolling Stone. Wenner published the review, but also his own, positive review of that classic album.

He also supported Bob Dylan's Christian music when it was under fire.

Other than that, the Furious Five over the DC5? Bad move.

On a different topic, given your FR ID, I promise not to mention VCU anywhere in this thread.

Right on, the Hall is quickly becoming a joke. Hopefully Landau will be able to get Wenner to see the light but I doubt it. The fact that Rush, KISS and Deep Purple arent in is a travesty to the bands and their fans. If the right people dont take over from Wenner, we'll be hearing Justin Timberlake and Beyonce will be inducted soon.

You beat me to it. Wenner is a a big "Democrat".

I think all so call "Democrats" are just intolerant, dictitorial, fascist traitors. They all hate their own country, culture and bent on commiting cultural suicide and promoting the death of freedom and America.

They're all simply nuts.

I guess up till now, I thought those musicians who were inducted into the Hall Of Fame got there based upon their merits and talent. At least for the most part anyway.

...Perhaps like the reality show 'Survivor', the other board members will find a way to vote Wenner off the island.

The very idea of a Hall of Fame is so NOT rock n roll.

Silly, like Wenner's magazine, and of no consequence, like Wenner's magazine.

Amazing list. Just to name a couple, the fact that Dire Straits and ELO aren't there speaks volumes.

"The very idea of a Hall of Fame is so NOT rock n roll."

You're the only other person I've encountered who expressed the same thought I had the first time I heard of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It's kind of like a Revolutionaries Hall of Fame. Kind of an oxymoron.

I have been saying this kind of stuff since I began following the rock and roll hall of shame voting. It is just a pissing contest between rich white liberals to come up with the most obscure, most "colorful" acts to show how "in touch" and how "down with the cause" they are. mles Davis is a great Jazz musician, but does he belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Solomon Burke? I love him, but come on...Bobby Darin? Etta James? Clyde McPhatter? The countless blues acts? The Jackson Five? curtis Mayfield? the Moonglows? Ritchie Valens? Get real...

In reality, they are merely (but only slightly) guilty about making a fortune at the expense (through shisterly contrats or through outright imitation) of the minorities that preceded them, and continue to toil in obscurity. They wouldn't give them credit, or lucrative contracts when it mattered, so they put them in , sometimes posthumously, when it means nothing. In turn, this ultimately hurts the Hall's legitimacy, thereby making the committee double offenders of crimes against rock and roll.
