If not one Senator asks him to explain the graph which shows that, through large periods of time, global warming precedes CO2 increases, then I will know that not one person in Congress cares about the science, but merely the politics of the issue.

Of course Al Gore did not provide a transcript of his statement 48 hours before he appeared like every other person making a statement before congress is required. That would have given too much time for his opponents to expose all Gore's inconvenient lies.

Good point! That, and a mention of Milankovitch Cycles, and a discussion of the Maunder Minimum are my keys for checking "science".

If the senators ask serious questions they'll have to agree that the man made theory is just that......man made......and not scientific at all.

Gore was supposed to submit his prepared statement to the committee 48 hours before the hfearing. From what I have read, he has yet to submit his statement, which is a violation of committee rules. I guess he doesn't want anyone to know what he is going to say so that they can't challenge him during the hearing.

I hope you are right. I will wait to see how tough the Reps are in questioning him and whether they have done their homework. You can bet the Dems know what Gore is going to say and will be supporting him.

These hearings are a sham and all for show
The Dems will go out of their way to praise Gore and telling him how wonderful he is
The Republicans will try to ask questions
Gore will stall and the Dems will try to cover for him

This cooling has already killed hundreds of thousands of people. If it continues and no strong action is taken, it will cause world famine, world chaos and world war, and this could all come about before the year 2000. -- Lowell Ponte The Cooling, 1976
If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder by the year 2000...This is about twice what it would take to put us in an ice age. -- Kenneth E.F. Watt on air pollution and global cooling, Earth Day (1970)
