Sub, if my gut instincts are correct, the events of the next three weeks will render this whole argument moot. How so?

When the move is finally made on Iran by an alliance of nations, it will have the full backing of Americans, Brits and others. Those who still oppose action against Iran will be marginalized. That includes Hagel and the Democrats. How many aircraft carrier groups do we have there?

Hagel should really jump into the presidential race to give us an alternative to Giuliani.

My Senator, MR Hagel, has been representing his old industry, from the beginning. That industry is "high tech I.D. cards". {forgable CARDS, not a checkable Database}.
Once Maine came out against his DREAM driver's license SCAM; Chuck "lost it".
As More & More Legislatures defy his plan, he gets nuttier.

They just entered the Gulf a few days ago. I dunno why....Not really....
I have suspected that there is something afoot for about a month now, and I'll bet the Brit's are on the move as we speak.
It could be a show of solidarity to force Iran's hand. i think this is why they are so jittery at present and why Amanutjob canceled.

How in the world did a man like Hagel manage to win a GOP election? Uh, I think that in Nebraska Dems and independents are allowed to vote, as well.
Most other places, too.
Call me crazy, but that might have something to do with it.

Nebraska is a populist stronghold. As is Montana and much of the west....As I see it. The Republican right wing is offensive to them. Even the Blue Dog dems in the south are more appealing these days.
I wish I could get more people here on this forum to understand why we are losing this battle and our coalition.

I completely understand the Republican right wing problem.
I love those guys. If they could get elected dogcatcher, they'd make fine dogcatchers.
For some reason, they persistently fantasize that they can get to 51% in state and national elections if only they purge enough Republicans first.
Bad at math.
They're very, very bad at math.

"Any president who says, I don't care, or I will not respond to what the people of this country are saying about Iraq or anything else, or I don't care what the Congress does, I am going to proceed if a president really believes that, then there are what I was pointing out, there are ways to deal with that."The way the people respond, Mr. Hagel, is via electing representatives that support their view. Is this the view of your constituents? And if it is, does your constituent's knowledge match that of those military leaders in the field or are we just a pure democracy where the Commander-In-Chief has to alter military strategy based purely on the fluctuating current of citizen approval?
To paraphrase PJ O'Rourke: "If we had a pure democracy then we would all have to eat pizza daily."

GOP (RINO) Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a frequent critic of the war, stopped short of calling for Bush's impeachment...
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public" - Theodore Roosevelt
Well, all I can say is that old Teddy never had to put up with the Democrats, the Rinos and the MSM of today and their traitorous ways...
Of course, in Teddy's heyday, he'd have raised up his Winchester and shot them down like the scum sucking dogs they are...

You are right. There is no case. Hagel is a prissy prima donna. He is having a hissy fit because the President does not take his cowardly and stupid ideas seriously. How does this idiot get re-elected?
