"Giuliani is Clear Favourite in Pennsylvania"
Exsqueeze me? What's this...?
46 per cent of Pennsylvania would support the former New York City mayor, while 42 per cent would vote for ... Hillary.Margin of error is 2.8 per cent.
So with the MOE Rudy could only have 43% and Hillary could have 45%.
Which means .. Rudy is NOT the 'Clear Favourite. It's a statistical tie.
(sheesh, how much is Rudy paying for these phony polls?)
Last night, Fair Opinion posted a thread that asserted that Thompson was a member of a bizarre Chruch of Christ that was an offshoot of mormonism. He had the wrong Church of Christ. He linked to some cheap web page, and ignored the copious amount of information on the web that made it clear he was wrong. He refused to acknowledge he was wrong or apologize. When challendged by Torie, he did the "But there is nothing wrong with being Mormom, so who cares?" routine. Luckily for him the thread was pulled. The point is, he has zero credibility or integrity, so don't trust or believe anything he says.
There hasn't been a "Republican" like Rudy - ever!
And that's not a compliment.
I don't doubt that. You posted the article for those who do.
Now you are attemting to cast me as a Mormon basher by posting this reply:
YOU are the one implying that there is something wrong with being Mormon, not I.
Nothing I have said points to that conclusion.
As the Religion Moderator has explained very well, your post was pulled because it simply wasn't true. No amount of waffling or casting aspersions on me will change that
The homosexuals play this game where they accuse conservatives of being homosexuals. When the conservative denies is, they say "Why would you deny it, what does it matter"?
That is the game that Fair Opinion is playing. It is a game of low class and low integrity. He migh be telling the truth that he doesn't care if Thompson is Mormom, but he knows other people will, so he falsley accuses Thompson of it.
The other point to last nights thread was that Fair Opinion did not have the integrity to acknowledge his mistake.
He was discussing some of the misnomers regarding Mormons.
He said (jokingly) that he only has one wife.
He also said, and I quote, "We accept Jesus as our personal Savior."
You don't hear that on TV much any more.
Thank you for verifying what went on last night. Though I disagree with many parts of the Mormon religion, I will not accept the label of "basher" no matter who trys to pin it on me.
I don't engage in bashing Rudy either but it will be a cold day in July before I vote for a liberal.
I agree, it's not going to GET him votes. Neither will it loose him votes with the general public except for those who are already against him. The Dukakis and Kerry incidents were different in that they were not attempts at comedy and/or for charity fundraising purposes. People were laughing at them, whereas, Rudy was laughing along with the people. I will concede though, that hadn't it been for 9/11, the photos could have an impact. The images of Rudy's competent and steadfast leadership during the aftermath of 9/11 are so instilled in the public's mind that they trump any photos that try to portray otherwise.
The religion a person lives is much more important to me than any titles. I have other reasons for not voting for Romney or Rudy.
Yeah right. The campaign hasn't even started yet, wait for the op research to kick in. Rudy will drop like a rock.
Same here.
How much do we know about the church in Jerusalem in the first century?
These polls are meaningless, as they are not taken in the heat of a campaign, with charge and counter charge flying, with nonstop political advertising invading everyone's homes, and with daily wall-to-wall media coverage of every campaign stop.
Giuliani supporters will be sorely disappointed when, next year, they discover that Giuliani (as I strongly suspect) that Giuliani is incapable of winning any state that Bush lost. Only it will be even more difficult for him, as Giuliani will have to find a way to win 60 million + votes without the help of several million conservatives, who will sit out the election.
Thank you for clarifying that. I am familiar with the Church of Christ and never heard anything so ridiculous as that claim.
Your question would make for a good vanity post on the Religion Forum.
Rudy would return the republican party to it's REAL DESTINY, that of limited government, personal responsibility and protecting the country.
I agree.
the correct approach for adults is:
fight like hell to get the right candidate on the ballot to represent the gop
then vote for the nominated party in overwhelming numbers in the general election
if its giuliani, then its giuliani
anyone who advocates a different approach is just another political enemy - most likely a liberal lurker pathetically attempting to foment dissent
I think some of the Rudy Haters here are well intentioned but will try to enter a lame horse in a thorobred race. He'll come in last and they will be in even worse emotional shape than they are now. This election is too important to hold out for an ideological twin. We have to win it and Rudy is the man who can do just that.
I thought this was done for a press club charitable event. It doesn't bother me a bit. If anything, it proves Rudy has a sense of humor and is secure in his masculinity. He was trying to look outrageous, where Dukakis and Kerry just looked stupid while trying to be serious. Big difference.
Don't take this as being mean, but if you're interested, here's a thread where you could learn to format your posts in an easier to read manner.
