With every passing week it's more likely that Hillary Clinton will be the Democrats' nominee for president. This thought alone should provide the strongest possible motivation for Republicans to get their acts together.
Polls showing half the country won't vote for Hillary should be discounted. The choice on Election Day won't be Hillary or not Hillary; it will be Hillary or someone else.

I bet she fires all the park rangers her first day in office
One more thing -- I think comparing Hillary to Nixon is a real insult to Nixon.
And a related article:
Clinton expected to lead Democratic fundraising pack
With the 2008 presidential campaign already in high gear, the first-quarter financial reports are viewed as the first major test of each campaign's viability. Some media reports have predicted that Clinton will raise as much as $30 million by the end of the quarter, which came at midnight yesterday.
Tony was charitable in using that term...I would have used some description along the line of "gooey cellulite"...
UPDATE to Hillary fundraising:
Hillary leads the money vote
"multi-million-dollar campaign events that are estimated to have netted Senator Clinton up to $US50million ($61.9million) in the past three months"
WE will probably have to go the whole socialist way to ruin before enough people wake up to what has happened.
Socialism has at least three great flaws:
1. It requires a totalitarian state to impose it and keep it in place.
2. As an economic system it can only consume and cannot generate or accumulate capital for investment.
3. It kills all incentive and innovation.
Hillary and a Dem controlled Congress, the ultimate nightmare.
THIS IS WHY WE NEED RUDY IN '08!
I agree with you except for the "enough people wake up" part. Many don't want to "wake up"...they benefit from the legal stealing that is socialism....so, things only get worse and worse....Or, I guess as you see in the U.K., they wake up for a time and then they doze again....wake up and doze again....uggghhhhh....
Not that I'm a socialist since I'm a busiiness owner, but as to points 2 and 3 - how do you explain China? Also, I know Europeans who individually have been doing just fine.
My sister lived in Amserdam for a few years and didn't mind the high taxes because she thought she got great services in return (had 2 kids for free). I guess that is now a big problem for the Dutch because of the increased percentage of non-contributing "immigrants".
We have some of the best politicians money can buy.
[Sadly, many are more than willing to sell their souls and political clout to the highest bidder.]
That might be outdated thinking. Consider the rise in Socialism in Europe, the UK and Canada. How about this as an alternative:
1. It requires a poorly educated and lazy electorate combined with a cooperative media.
For as much as Herself, the Cold and Joyless, was supposed to have hated and despised Richard Nixon, Herself has kept pretty close to the Nixon playbook that put him in office in 1968.
Get out in the country, at the ward and precinct level. Flatter and encourage the local political pros. Get all those personal obligations lined up, so when the time comes, they may be pulled in and turned into a vote pledge, and a money pledge (allied, but actually two separate things).
Herself already has the "enemies" list and the personal Mafioso bodyguard, and maintains excellent "opposition research" on all potential political rivals, inside and outside the party Herself is using as her vehicle to the Presidency.
But close adherence to that playbook is also what eventually caused Nixon's downfall and resignation from office in 1974. Something Herself would do well to keep in mind.
I worked for a Dutch company for seven years and on more then one occasion discussed that issue with my colleagues. I was surprised to find out that when one takes into consideration all that they get for their taxes, and compares that to all that we pay (either through taxes or voluntary retirement contributions), that the difference in net vs. gross is not that significant.
There net income runs about 55-60% of their gross. The deductions cover: retirement, health care, all taxes.
When I read the title I thought he was comparing her to Bart Simpsons blue haired pal.
She does resemble him.
Egad: Glad I am at the stage in life..where the
taxes are non-cause'.....except for gas, dinner,
Hillary can be beat...Gulianai can beat her..needs
our support....unless we can stop her...Michael
Savage will explode right on your radio....JK
Yes, we need a heavy hitter like Rudy to demolish the Clinton machine.
Rudy is the only one who can go toe to toe with her and win. He is not afraid to do a little street fighting.
I want her to get the nomination so much I can taste it.
Besides good political fun, her failed candidacy will crush the Clinton Mafia once and for all.
There you go, underestimating Hillary and the Clintont machinery. Hillary won't be easy to beat.
"I want her to get the nomination so much I can taste it.
Besides good political fun, her failed candidacy will crush the Clinton Mafia once and for all."
You're a gambler! I didn't want her husband to win his primary, didn't want him to be President, didnt want him to survive impeachment, didn't want Hillary to be senator, don't want her to win the primary and her winning the presidency is UNTHINKABLE.
We haven't stopped them yet.
Mrs. Bill Clinton will do anything to get elected; but we know that.
Do no wish for her to win the nomination..they will CHEAT at the ballot box, and dare us to disenfranchise BLACK voters.
If she gets the nomination, which IMO is a slam dunk & she were to lose the general, watch out for the revolt. Now if she wins & this is truly in the relm of possibility you can see the pubbies sitting on their fat a$$es & allowing her to rule. This is why I say the game is fixed in favor of communism/socialism & these elites in CONgress don't give a darn about the people. From that point of view I'll take only Tancredo or Hunter who seemed to be on our sde. The rest are quit compromised. Ergo, these two are villified while the others are uplifted. Hopefully, Fred or Newt can be the compromise.
Now, come on. The first part of your statement says that the kids were not really free, were they?
WE will probably have to go the whole socialist way to ruin before enough people wake up to what has happened
I agree with you except for the "enough people wake up" part. Many don't want to "wake up"...
And I will add one very important fact: when one or two generations have been born into and lived with socialism they can't 'wake up' because they have nothing to which they can compare anything. Hence, there is nothing for them to 'wake up' to because it isn't even on their radar screen, so to speak. Having been to Russia when it was still the USSR, I can guarantee you that one to three generations born and raised under this 'system' produces masses of brain-dead followers and no leaders.
My opinion of Vilsack couldn't go any lower. I will feel the same towards every other politico that sells their soul to Mrs. Clinton.
Lucre is unbecoming.
If she gets the nomination, which IMO is a slam dunk & she were to lose the general, watch out for the revolt.
IMO the AlBore Florida 'thing' was just a 'test drive' for the Clintoons, forcing a national election into the arena they love...the courts. Any defeat of Hitlery will be dragged into court and our national elections will forever more be decided by the Supreme Court rather than the Constitution electoral college. Remember the famous quote of Bubba about the impeachment: "Well then we'll just have to win". Legal battles to 'win' are the lifeblood of the Clintoon machine. In their mind, Hitlery WILL become POTUS and no one can stop them or their tactics.
Well, yeah - you're right...but she thought they were free. As i recall she had home visits from a nurse to check on how she and the baby were doing. There actually were services that I never got here.
Politically I disagree with her totally. We can't even discuss politics. I'm the oldest child and she and her husband are both the youngest and I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
I'm glad Smellovision never got off the ground...
The servics that European countries are able to afford comes at the control of the aristocratc elite - who don't really beleive in democracy - as well as the fact that defense spending is an afterthought because of the American promise for protection. Except maybe the UK.
If anyone out there doesn't think she can win, just stand back and watch. The very idea that this woman actually COULD be our next president terrifies me!
AMERICA LOVES HILLARY; TOP FUNDRAISER FOR ROUND ONE: $36 MILLION
Sun Apr 01 2007 13:28:02 ET
Total includes $26 million raised since Jan 20, $10 million transferred from successful senate reelection campaign
Hillary Clinton's campaign today announced it will report $36 million in total receipts for the first fundraising quarter, which ended March 31, 2007. The staggering number reflects the strength of support for Clinton from every walk of life and every part of America.
"We are overwhelmed by the tremendous enthusiasm and historic response this campaign has received so far," campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle said today. "Going forward we are poised to continue this success and make even more history."
Specifically, the campaign noted several key numbers demonstrating the overwhelming depth and breadth of Clinton's support:
$26 million raised in new receipts since launching her campaign on January 20
80 % of the contributions were $100 or less.
$4.2 million raised on the internet (including $1 million in a week during the One Week, One Million campaign, and nearly $600,000 online in the 36 hours preceding the deadline)
$6 million in total grassroots donations (internet plus direct mail and telemarketing receipts)
50,000 donors (tens of thousands of them new donors)
Contributions received from residents of all 50 states (plus Washington, DC)
$10 million transferred from Senator Clinton's successful senate reelection account
In March of 2003, the highest total reported by a Democratic campaign in its first-quarter fundraising report was $7.4 million and the top four candidates combined raised just over $23 million. In March of 1999, incumbent Vice President Al Gore reported $8.9 million for his first quarter.
They're fresh from a big victory in 2006. Judging from their attitudes, they feel that controlling the White House and both houses of Congress is their God-given right. We'd better get ready.
You got that right.
Is it possible the Clinton Fundraising Machine (CFM) is using strategy 151( greenbacks from Buddist monks ). My guess is..laundered money. Maybe the Indians in Bangalore, or perhaps, an offshore private equity group, or the good old Chinese.
The Hillary Machine is getting more than enough money from legitimate sources. By the time we vote in November 2008, she will have raised hundreds of millions of dollars. And while I don't doubt for a moment that such schemes are not beneath her, she won't break the law if she doesn't feel that she has to.
europe , canada??
I have to agree. Nixon never got over getting cut from a football team. Hillary has had to put up with decades of playing second fiddle to Bill and put up with decades of his philandering. You knew Nixon had some level of resentment in him for not being as good looking as Kennedy.
Hillary has to have that level of resentment times 1000.
In short, she is one scary "b!tch".
An economy functions on hard work.
Capitalism encourages and rewards hard work. Socialism rewards doing the bare minimum.
Eventually she will give the equivalent of Nixons checkers speech, and the country will know that this person should never be president or the leader of anything. She's dangerous even to the left!
In Columbus Ohio, there were 2 lines of thought before Florida beat UCLA in the basketball semifinals.
One line of thought was, I want FL to beat UCLA so we kick FL rear ends. The other line of thought was "I want UCLA to win because I could not take FL beating us again"
