Exactly. The British were sadistic monsters to Jews in those days and got what was coming to them.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
I remember having an argument with a German neighbor about Dresden, and how he considered it to be "terrorism" because civilians were explicitly targeted by the RAF. I hate to sound like a jellyfish-spined relativist, but in such cases, one group's act of war is another man's terrorism.
"Conservative"? Hmm.
This is a neat classification. Of course there quite a few of decent politicians too.
Another person who has no objection to terrorism. Nice to know.
So you think it is terrorism when Brits hang 3 Irgun from trees without a trial, and then the Irgun follows suit? Interesting. Frankly, the Brits were terrorists, for turning back tens of thousands of Jews who wanted to get to Israel and ended up getting sent back to be murdered in Nazi camps. They knew damn well that would be the result.
"Stern" gang
Not only a terrorist group but also working for the Nazis.
Britain's Small Wars

The Irgunists were convicted of individual crimes and hanged for them after trial and a chance to appeal.
The Brits were kidnapped at random and hanged in retaliation against their country, rather than for any acts they had personally performed.
This is terrorism in its starkest form. If you don't oppose it, you aren't against the method as such, just against having it used against "your side." Which pretty much invalidates any complaints you make when it is used against you.
What would you do, allow the Iranians to continue kidnapping & holding hostages, infiltrate jihadist terrorists into Iraq, murder US & Coaltion troops, train Hamas and Hezbbalah to murder more Israelis, plus allow Tehran's oil traders to keep manipulating international oil prices through threats, while the world pays the price?.
Your posts clearly indicate someone who has a deep rooted problem with the Jewish nation of Israel, and maybe NYC as well.
I don't understand your question. I was merely pointing out that the Irgun kidnapping and murder of British soldiers was an act of terrorism.
How does this in any way indicate that I am in favor of terrorism?
Quite the opposite, I think. The gentleman I was responding to, in the section you quote, is apparently not opposed to terrorism except when used against his side.
I'm opposed to the method, when used by anybody.
The Irgun members in question were convicted for participation in a raid on a British prison in which a number of British soldiers and civilians were killed.
They were tried, convicted and executed.
In retaliation, the Irgun hanged them, then booby-trapped the bodies. While the bodies were being taken down, one of the booby-traps exploded, severely wounding a British officer.
The irgun posted the following placard:
Announcement
The two British spies, Martin and Paice, who were under arrest by the underground since the July 12th have been put on trial, following the inquiry into their criminal anti Hebrew activities in. Martin and pace had been accused of the following crimes
1. Illegal entry into our home land :
2. Membership of the British criminal terrorist organize Asian known as the British army of occupation in Palestine, which is responsible:
for depriving our people of the right to live;
for cruel, oppressive acts;
for tortures;
for the murder of men, women and children;
for the murder of prisoners of war;
and deportation of Hebrew citizens from their country Homeland.
3. Illegal possession of arms intended for the enforcement of oppression and despotism :
4. Anti Jewish spying, disguised in civilian clothes :
5. Conspiracy against the Hebrew underground, it soldiers, bases and arms, the arms of freedom :
The court has found two to be guilty of all charges and sentenced them to die by hanging by their necks until their souls would leave them.
The request of the condemned man for clemency has been rejected.
The sentence has been carried out.
The hanging of the two British spies is not a retaliatory act for the murder of Hebrew prisoners-of-war, but it is an ordinary legal action of the court of the Underground which has sentenced will sentence the criminals who belong to the criminal Nazi British army of occupation.
We shall revenge the blood of the prisoners war who have been murdered by actions of war against the enemy.
The Court of Irgun Zvai Leumi
In Eretz Israel.
Good questions.
My best answer is perhaps that of the ancient Greeks. Tyrants, by definition, were considered the common enemies of mankind and actions against them were not considered murder.
The British sergeants in question were just ordinary men trying to do a thankless job, quite possibly men who had been conscripted rather than volunteers. They were not dictators who had murdered thousands or millions of innocent people.
Do you oppose the actions of the insurgents in Iraq who murder American contractors, mutilate and burn their bodies?
If so, on what basis do you justify the murder and booby-trapping of the bodies of the two British sergeants?
Is terrorism wrong in general, or just terrorism against Jews or Americans?
Of the 347, how many were non combatants? And how many were invaders, seeking to take the land from the rightful owners by violence and military force?
The people you call terrorists called in to warn when a bomb was set in the British Headquarters.
But the British, disarming the Jews, arming the Arabs and giving them their military bases before pulling out, the same British that traded away diplomaticly 70% of the land to the Hashamite Kings for oil consessions, they are not terrorists, they peacefully stood by and watched the arabs slaughtering the Jews in Israel while supressing any resistance to the pogram. The British who took the survivors from concentration camps and blocked them from coming to Israel, putting them in concentration camps in Cyprus.
The British who empire the sun never went down on, is now the British, in the fog of London that the sun never rises on.
While we may argue who is right and who is wrong, God does not argue. And as the rebuke to the United States reads in the end of Isaiah 14 "What then shall you tell the Ambasadors of that Nation? That Zion is for My people, and they shall find shelter in it."
If you cannot tell the difference between killing a politician that is making war on your people in your own country causing thousands to die, and blowing up school children in another country to protest their right to live under a different religion you do not have a problem with moral relativity, but with moral bankruptcy.
The British discovered this firsthand. Btw, I think you forget what sons of bitches the Brits were back then.
