Rosie: "My Weight Loss Secret? I ran..."
War of Wits ^ | 4/4/2007 | Jayme Evans

Posted on 04/04/2007 9:06:53 AM PDT by verbosevet

Somebody please tell me what qualifies a then-28 year-old footwear designer-turned reality TV reject from rendering a political opinion on any subject? We hold hearings for politicians. Interrogations are reserved for our enemies.

Of the four, the only one even qualified to discuss any sort of foreign policy position with any credibility whatsoever is Barbara Walters. But her journalistic credibility is disappearing like so many Krispy Kreme's ™ down Rosie O'Donnell's esophagus.

These days, Walters is more interested in interviewing our enemies, such as Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. The other three - two failed comediennes and a loser (literally) on a reality television show are in so far over their heads, the former just sit there lobbing baseless, radioactive charges to thunderous applause, while Hasselbeck is unable to get a word in edgewise. And when she does, O'Donnell tells her to shut up.

On a recent show, O'Donnell essentially sided with Iran, questioning rhetorically that if the kidnapping of 15 members of the British Royal Navy was "aggression" on Iran's part, why would they claim publicly they wouldn't harm the British ?

Oh. I thought this thread was going to be about running and weight loss. Clever pun, I guess ...

Seriously, “what qualifies” these TV-show participants is that they have an audience. If there was no audience, the show would be gone, and the participants would disappear from the public eye.

A better question might be, “What’s wrong with the people who watch this tripe?” There can’t be THAT many viewers stuck in doctors’ waiting rooms day after day, with no access to a remote control ...

There’s probably the same groupies every show, with a noise maker to make it sound like a lot of people. You would have to be sick though...

That's a possibility ... but I meant that someone is watching it on television. Shows don't run without sponsors, and sponsors don't run commercials without an expected audience.

I don’t watch any TV shows, unless I’m stuck in a doctor’s waiting room with no access to a remote control. I saw “The View,” once. What ugly women; fortunately, the volume was pretty low.

LOL - the only time I ever saw (part of) that stupid show was when I was stuck in a dentist's chair having some routine torture (I hate going to the dentist) and it was on the TV.

It was kind of like watching a train wreck...

Maybe doctors and dentists are doing this on purpose. It could be a conspiracy to get the patients to leave before their appointment time, so that the remaining patients (blind? deaf? iPods?) don’t realize how slow the service is.

It is below the level of Jerry Springer.

Some people have said it is on the same level but frankly that’s an insult to Jerry.

If you watched that and an hour of Barney and Friends guess which show you’ll learn more from?

It will be interesting if someone (O’reilly, Hannity, etc.) can have some of the ex-hostages on to interview how they were forced to apologize for something they didn’t do. Then they could be asked what they think of someone as stupid as Rosie.

The only reason for an audience is these lame brain freeloaders are just accommodating because of the freebies. Cut the handouts and the applause goes down.

I don’t know about that. Morning TV is crap, it’s hard to believe people actualy want those programs on. I think it’s a zero revenue/break even spot where the networks feed their own political agenda to the housewives stuck watching it, trapped in the house with kids.

I still have nightmares from that. I was unfortunate to have seen that on a large screen . The tv network should have had a viewer warning before they showed that. Imagine the emotional scaring that would cause a young baby boy watching that with his mother?
Turned him gay right then and there.

Steel melts at higher temps than aluminum (at around 2500 degrees F). The WTC Twin Towers exoskeleton which supported the weight of the building rather than traditional steel girder buildings was made of aluminum — NOT STEEL. Moreover, the skeleton was the buildings strength wil the steel inside was a radically different set up of subframe from traditional buildings.

Steel melts at aproxiamately 2,500 degrees F. Aluminum melts at 1,220 degrees F. It’s common sense that one realizes 2,500 versus 1,220 is a wide margin of difference.

Now add ignited jet fuel: The maximum open air burning temperature in slightly over 1700 degrees F though it usually burns less than 1,000 degrees F in a controlled test (without added variables).

The 9-11 fires engulfed all combustables and was billowed by the height and wind speed at the top of the towers. The top of the towers acted like natural flues and billows to the fire. It’s pretty clear from the evidence that the Trade Towers took time to melt enough aluminum and steel to cause the fatal collapses. But it happened and the buildings collapsed downward from their own wieght held by their weaking exoskeletons of low-temp aluminum.

Anyone willing to do the most elementary research would begin to understand that the Twin Towers that rely on a skeleton of aluminum rather than a subframe of steel collapsed under intense heat and damage due to the the planes (particularly the second plane) crash zones into the exoskeleton at strategic points.

But most people believe in dragons, angels, UFOs, ghosts, Santa Claus, toothfairies, and gnomes without an ounce of evidence. Superstition and emotional delusions rule the lives of both rich and poor, famous and unknown, religious and apathetic. Most people do not use reason in their lives. Most people are not circumspect in their actions and thoughts. Most people are functionally illiterate beyond their own careers and cares—some are totally illiterate. And a few people are probably on some form of pill or drink 365/24/7 to render sober decisions/judgments impossible.

Rosie, Moore, Springer, and the rest know their audiences because they are their audiences. Power is derived by playing to another’s inner fears and desires. Control is manipulating those fears and desires.
