Posted on 04/04/2007 6:11:50 PM PDT by FairOpinion
Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday said everything has to be considered if the United States wants to break its reliance on foreign oil, including more drilling off Florida's coast.
Calling the energy supply a major domestic problem, Giuliani said the nation needs to focus on nuclear power production and renewable energy sources. In the meantime it also needs to see what oil can be tapped, he said.
"Energy independence means everything has to be open for discussion," Giuliani said when asked about offshore drilling. "The idea of having more oil under our command, so to speak, or within our orbit probably for some period of time is going to be important. The ultimate goal, however, should be renewable sources of energy."

It’s pandering, but you wouldn’t catch that.
Well you know that I agree with you 100%. The Rudy I know doesn’t take crap from anybody. I just hope age hasn’t mellowed him :-)
Snatorum is a liberal?!!!!!!!
daaaaa! isn't’t that what I just said in the post you’re responding to?
“The Rudy I know doesnât take crap from anybody. I just hope age hasn’t mellowed him “
Doesn’t look like it. He was great on Hannity the other day — a real leader, just what we need. :)
You know what cracks me up about this forum? This was the place that largely wanted Alan Keyes as their guy in 2000. LOL. That didn’t work out too well for them then and it’s not working out too well for them now. They’re seeing themselves marginalized every week and it’s freaking a lot of people out.
You know what cracks me up?
You Rudy supporters POSTING on a conservative discussion Forum.
Why don't you guys start your own RudyRepublic.com website?
You constantly complain about FR, but are still here. It’s very similar to battered spouse syndrome. Go ask your shrink husband about that one. You know, the one who won’t “allow” you to donate to FR.
What kind of spouse won’t “allow” another to do anything, btw?
Thanks for the great job you’re doing, areafiftyone. I’m sorry that the Rudy threads devolve into such ugliness by the Rudy haters. Their charges get more inflammatory by the day and you handle it with grace and kindness.
My husband isn’t a shrink and no man would want his wife financially supporting a site where men are permitted to speak to woman the way some of the freepers here have been permitted to do.
But carry on with your he-man act. Most of us know what you are and it’s ugly and maladjusted.
They have one, that’s where they coordinate their FR attacks from!
Don't believe in equality, eh?
Wrongggggg! Just pointing out that you’re beating a dead horse here. We’re only at 10% at FR and it seems that with all the energy being spent on these pro-Rudy threads could be used to light a fire under the candidate(s) of your choice. Just common sense.
And every single bit of it is true fact. It says alot about the candidate in question.
I don’t know who Snatorum is, but Santorum was a Senator.
Just think of it as debate training for us, and don’t worry your little head about others do. You’ll be better off that way, junior.
Why do you refer to "this forum" in the third person?
You're still a member, donchaknow.
Before I call it a night, let me add that I find it quite amusing that most of these maladjusted freepers spend more time bashing all the candidates. The only ones they support are those who either a) haven’t announced; or b) don’t stand a chance of winning.
Now, I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound like a winning strategy and it certainly doesn’t sound like they actually support the GOP in any fashion.
Also, most of these people are the same ones who thought Alan Keyes should be our nominee in 2000 and called Bush a cokehead, so you can see that their political sense isn’t exactly in sinc with the rest of the country. Thank goodness.
Maybe because I’m referring to a handful of marginalized, maladjusted freepers? I thought surely anyone could figure that out.
Identify the “maladjusted Freepers.” Don’t be a coward.
WOW! Alan Keyes? Good to know what’s driving this almost obscene obsession with driving Rudy’s negatives up.
Oh, I think anyone reading this thread and dozens of others can figure that out. I’m not playing your little game, but you carry on with someone else and have a wonderful evening.
Sleep tight. I know I will, especially since my candidate is doing so well nationally. Toodles.
"This forum" is not "a handful of marginalized, maladjusted freepers" is it?
You realize you are a member of the team you seem to despise, right?
So, make a big deal of a typo.
Santorum WAS a conservative Senator, who was defeated because the conservatives stayed home in 2006.
They are all over at your anti-freep site, fan of steyn.
Isn't it ironic? They're posting on a conservative Forum trying to sell a liberal candidate, and then call US the extremists.
This is straight out of the Clinton War Room.
Good to know. Wish I had used it in my previous post to you.
You said what you said, now you whistle past the graveyard like no one should notice.
So sad for you.
As long as there is a single Rudy fan left standing, it will not apply.
It’s not a typo, it’s your effort to move the goalposts on my statement.
Back to Propaganda 101 with you (but fill out the timeslips, please!).
Thats getting tiresome..
My grade school memory in geography is the paragraph that said “[insert country] is rich in natural resources including minerals, diamonds, coal and oil.
Since when has it become a sin against nature to utilize our own natural resources for the betterment of Americans?
I agree with Mr. Giuliani on these environmental issues.
“I wonder how some of these anti-abortion zealots would react if their wife or daughter was brutally raped by a criminal of a different race. Would they want their said wife/daughter to have the baby then?”
Yes I would. It would be very traumatic, but murder is murder. It isn’t the poor baby’s fault! Why punish him/her? And I will just bet that the baby would end up being a blessing and a beautiful gift from God!
Did you see where she deined having psots pulled and siad to go find them as proof? Now, I’ve seen some pretty stupid stuff posted here, but that one about had me falling out of my executive chair at work.
Damn, i wish this rock I’m sitting on at home were as comfortable.
Rudy has no credibility. You're talking about a man who would pay to have his daughter get an abortion.
“Since when has it become a sin against nature to utilize our own natural resources for the betterment of Americans?”
Ruditude is poisonous.
“Conservatives are intelligent enough to know that Hillary is very, very beatable. “
Anybody who thinks that is very, very, very, very.... NAIVE.
Eneregy independence is part of national security. Without national security, not much else matters. Or is it just a pesky problem that will go away?
“Just think of it as debate training for us...”
Well, I tried.
+1 to Rudy on this...although i am not a supporter of his, how does he think Florida will go for this?...i can’t speak for California but i know that Florida will fight this tooth and nail...my state is saturated with oil rigs on its small coast (AL)...it ticks me that FL won’t be a player and my state probably uses an 1/8th of energy in comparison.
Apparently he would also smile while writing the check or try to bill the government for the cost of that daughter's constitutional "right."
“Eneregy independence is part of national security. Without national security, not much else matters.”
Thinking? So that's what that huge puff of smoke was!
Yeah, it’s great Cuba is slant-drilling it right out from under them.
I've been saying that for 30 years.
Liquids are portable, ergo use liquids in machines that are portable (cars, buses, trains, planes). Non-portable enrgy for entities whaich are non-portable energy consuming. Seems pretty simple to me...
