The Family-Friendly Easter Bomb Hunt (WAPo Assists Moonbats Again) - DC Chapter To Counter 4/9/07
Washington Post - The Insurgents' Best Friend in the USA ^ | Friday, April 6, 2007 | Sue Anne Pressley Montes

Posted on 04/06/2007 9:07:26 AM PDT by tgslTakoma

Seven-year-old Alvin Mitchell worked intently yesterday on what looked to be a blue balloon wrapped around a tennis ball. It was a fake version of a cluster bomb, and the real thing, he pronounced, can "blow you up and kill you."

The fake bombs Alvin and a dozen other children were making at a peace workshop will be put to use Monday in Lafayette Square. As hundreds attend the White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn, a smaller group will gather at the park on the north side for what is being billed as a "family-friendly Easter cluster-bomb hunt."

*

"Obviously, we're trying to spoof a little bit what will be happening on the South Lawn," said Brian Hennessey of the Vineeta Foundation, a local human rights group founded in 1995 that is the lead sponsor of the cluster-bomb hunt. "We're not trying to hit kids over the head with this; we want them to have fun."

*

"This is supposed to be funny," he said about the hunt. "We're not trying to be confrontational. We're not going to be in anyone's face. People are welcome to reject what we say or think about it."

*

Other peace groups, such as Code Pink and the Coalition for Justice and Accountability, came onboard.

*

The event, which runs from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., the same hours as the White House Easter Egg Roll, will include a search for weapons of mass destruction for the adults.

*

A hulk of a large bomb will be filled with toy bombs, and a prize will be given to whoever guesses the number inside.

*The adults told the children they could write their names on the "bombs" and take them home after Monday's event.

Be nice. Throw the firecrackers at the hippies instead of the children. :-)

We need to bring back mandatory military service for all young men and women in the USA.

Actually, bringing back Christianity (the old-time "knuckle-dragging/homophobic" stuff, not the new, touchy-feely, liberal/socialist kind) would go a long way toward repairing this society. And I say this as someone who's not particularly religious.

There’s a lot of insipid crap on the internet about Israel using cluster bombs. The same people who complain about the bombs would celebrate if Israelis were killed.

Someone needs to point out that cluster bombs are intentionally dropped on military targets. Whereas terrorist bombs are specifically used to target unsuspecting civilians, like these little kids who are making cluster bombs.

They're doing this sh*t in front of the White House and all the tourists??? That'll teach me to read stuff too fast. They should be ashamed of themselves, but I guess that's impossible with these bozos!

They are some sick puppies!

The end of the Baby Boomer generation, of which I am smack in the middle, cannot come soon enough.

I say the same thing myself some times. God that's sad.

Wait a minute! Toy bombs? Aren’t these are the same idiots who won’t let their children have toy guns? Liberalism = reason-impaired.

Go get’em, DC Chapter!

Blessed Easter to all of you. Thanks for standing in for the rest of us.

I agree with you on that. The connection between the privileges and opportunity of being a US citizen and duty to the USA, and the larger society, have been eroded by the Baby Boom generation and its drive to revamp our country into a secular, blame-free, multicultural non-judgemental anything-goes entity. “In God We Trust” seems to have fallen away and been replaced with “Where’s Mine” among a large segment of our people.

I believe we need to do something to reinstill pride and honor among our young people, too many of whom have been brainwashed by their Baby Boomer “parents” into this self-centered self-centered perspective. The 60s cannot die fast enough to save us, I fear. However, there is hope, in the form of the young men and women who serve us now overseas as volunteers in the military. They will be the saving grace of our nation.

Is it me or does this seem to closely resemble what the Muslims are doing with their own kids?

There must be something wrong with my sense of humor then.

Eagles Up!!!

I’ll be there.

Time for the big boys to come out and play, not like last Saturday in Olney when the Eaglets were out.

They won’t last five minutes. Fake or otherwise, the White House is NOT going to allow this.

perhaps the secret service should be notified and informed that the leaders are “holding” the munitions in a body cavity to be “deployed” later.

It’s not you, it is some seriously inadequate thinkers who are so driven by their ideology that they will use their children for props.

However, Easter monday around the White House is not a good day to try this ugly stunt. Thousands of families, all with pre-obtained entrance tickets will be standing in lines waiting to be searched before entering the grounds of the White House. I really doubt that the Secret Service is going to let anyone play with “pretend” bombs.

Who **reads** this silly "news" paper? I hope that no Freepers pay for it. Hits on their web site bring them advertising dollars.

I’m with you guys! WTF?!
This Washington comPost nonsense tosses out some generic
info about cluster bombs with little reference on the WOT,
only that children are making mock versions to insult the
White House.

Yugoslavia is mentioned as one of the locations that they
have been used. WELL; we all know who started that one.

I doubt very much if the author of this propaganda has any
idea just how many or how few, may have been used in Iraq
or Afghanistan. Chances are very few were used. CBs are
antipersonnel ordinances used only to confine or restrict
areas that are vital to or heavily tread by the enemy.

Because of the fear of civilian and friendly casualties,
CBs would be used sparingly near ANY populated areas.

The W/comPost also quotes this clown Hennessey, and how he
got this idea for this “Keester Egg” hunt, back on March 17.
(Let me say that I’M one MICK who is sick to death of all
these d*mn Irish liberals)*** He claims he was “standing on
the stage, looking into the crowd of HUNDREDS(not tens of
thousands as were fore casted)of like minded people”, or
some such crap. HaHaHaHaHaHaHa. Hope they get even fewer
this time around. It’s obvious that the lefties’ hero, Bela
Pelosi, the Damascus Diva, has laid the biggest egg that
the liberals could find all week. Stink bombs included.

Thanks for letting me rant as it’s been a long, tough week.
....JJ61

***=Conservative Irishman ranting about all the damn
liberal Irish in this country. Need a whole new forum.
