A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Welcome to Warm Fuzzy Wednesday at the Finest. For those who start counting the days on Monday until the weekend, we're halfway there! So we're here to banish those doldrums and make you smile inside! Please feel free to post sweet graphics and/or little stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy - or just come by and give us a smile. Only two more days 'til the weekend!

I couldn't possibly live in a place with much more snow, but a few inches and a good storm or two over 4 or 5 months is nice. Snow does magical things - til it gets old.

God, Answer Me!

READ: Psalm 6

The Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. —Psalm 6:8

Theresa left Sue a message that she had some great news. Sue was convinced that her friend had received Jesus as Savior. After all, she had been praying for Theresa’s salvation for 30 years. What could be greater news!

A few days later, Theresa revealed her “great news”: She had a new boyfriend and was moving in with him. Sue cried out in desperation, “Lord, what makes me think that You would answer me after 30 years of praying?” She proceeded to have a pity party for herself about God’s seeming reluctance to answer her.

Some of our hardest struggles are those deep desires that go unmet— when no response comes from heaven for what seems like forever. The psalmist David could relate. He cried, “Have mercy on me, O Lord . . . . My soul also is greatly troubled; but You, O Lord—how long? Return, O Lord, deliver me!” (Ps. 6:2-4). But later in the psalm we read that David knew the Lord had heard him (v.9).

A month after Theresa’s “great news,” she called and left another message: “I have wonderful news! I trusted Jesus as my Savior! I don’t know why I didn’t do it long ago.” Now Sue is praying that Theresa will grow in the Lord and seek to please Him with her life.

Keep praying. In His time, God will answer.

Dear Lord, I know You hear me, and that You
are powerful and wise. Help me to wait patiently
and to trust You for Your good and perfect answers
to the needs of those I love. Amen.

Delay is not denial. So keep on praying.

Good Morning Mayor.
Thank you for today’s Bible lesson.

The Prayer is one that needs repeating, please join me in praying:

Dear Lord, I know You hear me, and that You
are powerful and wise. Help me to wait patiently
and to trust You for Your good and perfect answers
to the needs of those I love. Amen.

And in gratitude we thank you Lord.

No snow, just cold and rainy.
We usually have an easter egg hunt outside but not this year.
My in-laws live right on Lake Erie and the wind was blowing right off the lake and over the ice. It was a chilly day so we all stayed inside.

I have two cute raccoons on the patio eating sunflower seeds I leave for them..so I can”wonder” at them.

You're lucky to have interesting wildlife in your area. I sure wish we had more wildlife around here, although, definitely not of the snake or rodent varieties. Gophers and moles, we don't need. LOL.

It would be nice to see a possum or a raccoon or a deer, but we have to be content to 'wonder' at our feathered friends and an occasional field mouse.

I am so sorry you are under such stress at your job. Sure hope things ease up for you soon. All you can do is the best you can do, but I have been in stressful job situations too and I know it's really tough to take a philosophical attitude when you've got "stuff" coming at you from all sides. *sigh*

I will pray that things calm down for you soon. :-)

That's wonderful! Have your ordered from Hortico before? I hope your Tinenke rose grows beautifully. :)

I have ordered dozens of roses from Edmund’s Roses in the past. They were magnificent. Family run. They sold it to Jung seed and I don’t know what the quality will be like now.

I ordered some rose shrubs from Spring Valley Roses. I had ordered Viburnum and other berrying shrubs for the birds. They are great! :) They don’t sell Ht’s though. I’m tempted to order from David Austin. I never have ordered from them before.

Thank you for your concern, Mama Bear... Hugs!!

Your experience sounds EXACTLY like mine, so you know how overwhelming it can be.

I’m actually having a better day, because I stayed home...LOL. Legitimately, because I have a sinus infection. (Meg, you are magical, with your wish for a better day...:) I felt so draggy and sick this morning, until I called in sick, then I had some renewed energy!!

It is a BEAUTIFUL brisk Spring day here. The winds have cleaned and freshened the air, there are cottony clouds floating over, and it’s gorgeous!!

However, there’s a police/evacuation incident nearby. I saw helos hovering, so phoned West L.A.P.D. division and they said “dynamite has been found.” No details.

God bless each and every one of you, my FRiends.

someone was asking about favorite white/off white roses.

My favorite when I grew them was Pristine. I won a lot of ribbons showing that one. Not sure if it is still on the “hot” rose list.

Well, I am home for a few hours before Bible Study/small group tonight & considering going w/reddish hair.

I normally do it Valentines day thru St. Pats but did NOT this year.

I bought beef liver, chicken hearts & fish for my pets. I HATE cooking meat.

later

oh, BTW Jaycee.. Thanks for comments on Cali (she is old.. 18) we have 4 calicos in the house. Cleopatra a short hair about 7 & Pricess & Queenie a mom/daughter persian combo about 5 & 6 years old

Wishing all the Finest a wonderful and fuzzy Wednesday.

A stray little girl showed up on my porch last week, bright eyes looking up at me in the dark, hungry and obviously glad for a little chow.

She hung around for few days, got bothered by the Toms in the hood until I intervened and asked them to back off. The next day, she came up to me for some lovin' and we had our bonding moment when I officially became her slave.

Took me another day to reaalize she was sick with a big abcess on her back, so I kept her in over Easter weekend and we went to the vet on Monday.

Surgery has now taken care of her wound, and antibiotics are battling the infection. The vet says she's doing fine.

I'll get her back next week ... gonna try to find a good home for her in the meantime.

She's a lovey little thing ... vet told me she's about five months old ... I call her Coffee ... )

Hi Dolly
I know what you mean about cooking for the pets. I cooked chicken livers the other day. Ewww, to me. LOL

I’ve seen Pristine in catalogs. It looks beautiful and I’d love to grow it. I have to check the cold hardiness of this rose.

Have fun tonight. Let’s see pictures of you with red hair. ;)

LOL. Well, that's an excellent way of solving your stressful work situation, however sorry to hear that you have a sinus infection. Those can be miserable and can take a long time to clear up.

We have very high icy winds here today. Feels just like the wind is coming off the water....sort of like the way I hear it is in Chicago much of the time. BRRRRR....

Guess I won't be going out and photographing more roses today - they are blowing around like crazy.
