Gingrich drops skepticism on global warming ("John Kerry Is 60% Right")

April 11, 2007

WASHINGTON -- In a Capitol Hill debate about global warming touted by its moderator as a "smackdown" between former House speaker Newt Gingrich and Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts, Gingrich praised Kerry's recently released book about environmentalism, acknowledged that global warming is real, and offered what amounted to an unexpected apology for his party's inaction on curtailing greenhouse gas emissions. "I'm not going to stand up here and defend our failure to lead," said Gingrich, who is considering a run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 and plans to release a book in the fall burnishing his environmental credentials. "There has to be a green conservatism."

The standing-room-only debate, staged yesterday in an ornate Senate hearing room, offered an indication that even diehard conservatives like Gingrich, who stepped down as speaker in 1998, are abandoning their skepticism on global warming. As recently as two years ago, Gingrich ridiculed the notion that humans are causing the earth to warm, but yesterday he said the evidence was "sufficient."

"We have now passed the tipping point of that argument," he said yesterday. The former Georgia congressman even allowed that he agreed with "about 60 percent" of "This Moment on Earth," a recently published book Kerry co wrote with his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry.

- Carbon Credits For Sale - Cheap -

THE WARMEST YEAR
IN EARTH'S HISTORY?

CAN I GET ME A FEW MORE
CARBON CREDITS HERE?

What is algore's energy use for his Tennessee mansion so far this April?

Is he on track to use about $1200+ a month of electricity plus natural gas for heating as usual?

If palm trees and hippos were once in England how can these "climate experts" claim the earth was never warmer and all you dumb peons cannot question their "facts"?

Did algore's ancestor's invent a extra secret worldwide thermometer gizmo hundreds of years ago we will all soon learn about on the Weather Channel?

What did the "consensus of worldwide expert scientists" say about how warm this month would be on April Fool's Day?

I know nobody on the left will ever ask the questions which need to be asked and I am beginning to doubt if those on the right have the backbone.

Question #1) Exactly what is the best temperature for the earth?

Question #2) Has there ever been a time in recorded history that the earth did not cool or heat up?

Question #3) Exactly and I mean exactly, if the earth is warming what percentage is caused by humans?

Question #4) If we removed some of the particulate filters forced on us, would we not reduce the solar radiation on the planet and then cool it? Think of those nasty big belching things created by wonderful mother nature call volcanoes. Seems volcanoes have been known to cool the planet after one of their belches.

Question #5) Is this not simply another plot by the losers of the world to hold back the successful countries of the world by cutting off their energy supply.

Seems like every action taken by the one world types has targeted those countries that have succeeded and don't have most of their population running around in the sand half naked. They want to level the playing field by cutting off the legs of the producers in any manner possible.

This is the “I want to go to the lefty cocktail party”, side of schizoid Newt. The same one that sidles up next to Hillary on some cockamamie scheme about only half-way nationalizing the health care industry. And then sneers at his conservative backers for taking exception to his seeming reversal of ideology. Their are other examples of this kind of garboj out of Newt.

Next week, he’ll revert back to the “fire-breathing conservative”, side of schizoid Newt.

Those are the usual of his two multiple personalities that he most often shows. The other, less often seen, one is when he tells his wife on her sick bed, “Oh by the way, I’m leaving you for one of my interns”.

Or worse. When he refuses to fulfill his oversight duties when called upon. When the nation, his nation, our nation, is faced with a clear and present need to remove a no-goodnik of a President. Then he was Silent Newt. Nowhere to be found Newt. Gone Newt. Inexplicably, all of a sudden, silent Newt.

Good idea man. Good history teacher. Terrible choice for President. Go away Newt.

Newt, you shark-jumping, assumptive apologist. What a wussie. I never thought you had a chance to win the nomination and now I am certain. How dare you apologize for the GOP and conservatives! Next thing you know you’ll be licking albore’s a**!

I think Fred Thompson just took himself out of the race with the announcement of his return of Lymphonic Cancer. Prayers for him. I'd like to see Duncan Hunter get some traction.

If he doesn't, I'm willing to settle for Romney. At least he has a track record as a successful businessman. As long as he respects the second amendment, I don't give a rat's rear end as to whether he personally has been hunting or not. The 2nd Amendment is NOT for hunters and sportsmen any more than the 1st Amendment is for journalists. They just happen to benefit from this God-given right.
