Since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, our nation has fought a global war against violent extremists who use terrorism as their weapon of choice, and who seek to destroy our free way of life. Our enemies seek weapons of mass destruction and, if they are successful, will likely attempt to use them in their conflict with free people everywhere. Currently, the struggle is centered in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we will need to be prepared and arranged to successfully defend our nation and its interests around the globe for years to come. DOD
Our enemies include all the Muslims who dream of knocking Western Civilization off its perch atop humanityâs dung heap. Islam is fractured into any number of sects, tribes and ethnic groups, but the dream of destroying us cuts across all the fault lines. Islamic terrorists are merely the tip of a very large spear.
J. Peter Mulhern, the American Thinker, September 18
The determination behind that fight is real, the hatred is real, and the excuses for doing this are very real in the minds of those who have decided to walk that path. We can respond in two ways: Try to ignore or negotiate with people who do not want to negotiate in good faith, because what they want is our destruction, or to stand up against the darkness of those who see all of us, our way of life, our culture and our aspirations as something worth eliminating.
Either: "And God willing, with the force of God behind it, we shall soon experience a world without the United States and Zionism," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
Or: "With vigilance, determination, courage, we will defeat the enemies of freedom, and we will leave behind a more peaceful world for our children and our grandchildren." GW Bush.

Too many windows, not enough eyes...
That’s what I say.
I did ping everybody....so everybody had a spare key!
Boy, is that ever true. We have people who get paid for that. Like Valerie Plame. How are they doing? (Actually, there are some out there doing pretty well and I need to acknowledge that, but they aren't busy getting their names in the papers.)
We are there alright.
I’ve got my key!!
Thanks for the ping.
How do you like 4but and CM’s new alter egos????
Aren’t they KEWT!!!
I’m a short termer at this hour.
I hope I can find interesting material for morning reading. I’ll probably leave out any wisdom from General Zinny :)
Dang..you show that map to a DEM, and they will start apologizing to everyone!!
ah, yes....those pearls of wisdom from Zinny!
Fat Timmah just sat there lapping it up..ugh.
I know that AliVeritas did a “document dump” on the Sunday thread that would make the White House proud...LOL
I am never going to get through all of those links...yikes.
I’ll have to looky at Dat !!...;0)
It would have to be #2.
And, if I had to have a choice between the House and the Senate on the 2nd choice, it would be the House, probably...especially if there were still enough GOPers in the Senate to keep anything from passing with 60 votes.
Maliki Government May Fall, Democracy In Action
Inside an article describing Sundays terrible violence in Iraq was this interesting item:
Two officials close to Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr said his followers would quit their six Cabinet posts Monday a move that could leave Prime Minister Nouri al-Malikis already weak administration without enough support to stay in power.
The mechanics would be as follows:
Al-Sadrs six followers on the 37-seat Cabinet would officially withdraw from the government Monday, said Saleh al-Aujaili and Hassan al-Rubaie, members of the Sadrist bloc in parliament. They said al-Sadrs 30 legislators would stay in parliament.
Again, this is Parliamentary democracy in action. If the Government can not stand, it must fall. Maybe a stronger leader can be found.
Good evening, CM!!
What have you been up to this fine Sunday?
NASCAR...;0(...Jr. got a DNF...:0((damn Kyle)...;0)
I heard that he had some problems.
Someday, you are going to have to come to the Texas Speedway. My daughter used to work in the office complex that overlooks the raceway. She said it is really nice.
They have condos that people buy...and just use during race weesks..LOL

Some quiet pride
By Richard North
Promoted from the diaries by AE—we should all be proud.
While far too much time and attention is being devoted to a rather inadequate part of the Royal Navy and its attempts to cover up its own incompetence we can all share some quiet pride in the way the Army is now acquitting itself in Basra.
This is not just the robust action taken last week, when up to 30 Shi’te gunmen were killed, for no losses of our own. Today, according to Reuters, British forces again killed some gunmen, eight this time, who had been found laying IEDs, close to where the four British service personnel had been murdered earlier this month.
There are men out there doing the hard work.
He sure did,,,#5 runned over him,,,tore up car...:0(grrrrr.
LOL,,,when have we ever beed “Out” of the corner ??...;0)
And there I was, being a friendly soul, giving away free knitting patterns to someone who had written me asking for advice...and while my back was turned....LOL!
Won’t be much on the nuzz bout that...
