Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I've been following your posts and they're articulate, sober and engaging.

Thanks for your rant....it is well taken.

I too ranted...(on another thread) to some folks I have cared for a very long time.....and will cherish in memory what use to be...(I know I burned my bridges..)

I am and will reflect on your post....

...I will take some time off to do just this....

We will prevail....Free Republic will prevail.

Thank-you...and you make an excellent point about taking all this to prayer.

I need to remember what I've forgotten.

God bless you.

And if you know I post over there, I guess you are reading over there, too. You could try joining, but I suppose you're not interested.

If I came over and joined would you let me in the top secret squirrel hideout? No, you say anyone can join, but only the select are really let in. If your place is so nice and sweet, then why when I posted a link to a thread there was that thread YANKED? What did you all have to hide over there?

"It can’t be ‘anybody but a democrat’ anymore. Because if you sacrifice your beliefs for a ‘win’ then you haven’t won anything. "

Well said. If you vote for someone who does not represent your views, no one will know your views. Your choices will get worse and worse. Any party candidate on the ballot that wants my vote, earns my vote and it won't be GOP if Rudy is their man.

I'm breaking my silence to point out that you're flat out wrong on just about everything you posted here, "Charles." It isn't the Rudy supporters who are belligerent, rather it's his detractors. And the "other site" you supposedly followed us to is not a place where folks are "plotting" against "real conservatives. " You're exhibiting the kind of paranoia or other mental illness that seems to be affecting most on FR these days. To understand the attitudes and behavior of most of the remnant on FR these days, one needs only to read the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th ed.

You've gotten what you want -- you've all driven the pragmatic conservatives from FR. Why don't you stop obsessing about where they've all gone and what they're all doing, and enjoy your barren political existence.

I should be saying, “all-or-nothing conservatives.”

As opposed to your faction, the "all for liberals, nothing for conservatives" faction, of course.

Let them have their site. I’ll even give a few bucks if they promise to stay there.

Same with LP. They were a bunch of disgruntled Freepers who seem to be all over the map politically. They hate Bush. They hate Thompson. They hate the GOP. There is nothing that brings optimism over there. I joined during the Bushbot wars and spent a lot of time there while the Giulianites seemed to be in control here. Now it’s pretty dead most of the time.

This is the place, guys. It rocks.

Thank you, Jim.

It TURNS MY STOMACH when ANYONE tries to compare President Reagan's personal life to the absolute TRAIN WRECK of a personal life of liberal, serial adulterer like Guiliani. It's sickening.

My dad is an Auburn grad, API ‘49. My wife and I are Bammers, ‘82 and ‘83. My dad, the 80-year-old Auburn grad who lives in Montgomery, told me last week George Bush stole the 2000 election. I said, “Holy David Langner, Dad!” and changed the subject.
You said you were looking for a man who will NOT compromise conservative values.
I don’t know if a man like that exists in the political arena today.
I really have problems with any man who has a history of not being able to keep his weiner in his pants, and there are quite a few of those around.
America has never elected a president whose last name ends in a,e,i,o,or u. I don’t see that changing for a long time.

"There's nothing to debate. You're either pro God, family, Life and Liberty or your not. He's not. End of story."

Righto or put another way 'you are either with us or against us'.
