Gingrich is a bad choice.

He dumped not one, but two wives after they became critically ill, and after he refused to support his daughters, the family was being supported by their church for a while.

He may be smart, but his is immoral. How can he be trusted?

Giuliani stepped out as a hero after 9/11. He was inspiring, not in a political way, but in a human way. In the same way that I continue to believe that Bush was the right man for this country at that time, I believe Giuliani was the right man for that city at that time.

He was a powerful supporter of the President after 9/11, and as a public figure, I tend to like him very much.

I don’t agree with him politically, I think he’s a mistake for the Republican Party nomination. But I do understand why he is appealing to people.

It’s a Charter Arms Bulldog. My 9mm and .25 are astras. My .45 is a Ruger. The .45 is my normal choice for carry...but I am currently using the 9mm until I get the .45 back.

“and the thing is, even if Rudy does not win the nomination - if Hillary wins, the same people here will blame Rudy for “dividing the party” by even being in the race. If Thompson gets the nomination and loses the general, there will be endless posts about how “Rudy caused it”.”

That is TOTAL B/S

I don’t know what to tell you. You’ll have to ask
Rudy that question.

He wants to be the most powerful man in world as POTUS, let him answer it.

“Rudy may not be “winning” the FR wingnut caucus, but that really doesn’t matter much in the larger contest, does it?”

it matters with the small % of voters dedicated enough to vote in the primaries. He has to appeal to them first before he can make the moderates swoon.

I'd heard rumors of this commentary, but I hadn't seen it until someone Freepmailed me about it tonight. Thanks for taking this stand and giving many of us the confidence to keep stating why we don't believe that Rudy Giuliani is right for the country or the party.

Leftist troll. It’s how they operate. Register a “True Conservative” ....

Exactly. So much hatred has blinded to what really is going on here and what is so obvious. Agreeing on the same thing for different reasons; two agenda's being played out.

The Rudy supporters don’t want to argue the facts, it all emotion. They claim that he is the only one who can beat Hillary, which in fact the only way he would have a shot is if he ran in the DNC primary. When asked for what he stands, the only thing they say is “A strong war on terror!”. Which is OK, but pretty meaningless.

I have been called a religious extremist, bigot, anti abortion fanatic, and whole host of other names just because I do not and will not support a man who holds none of the views I do. The last time I got hit with those ad homonyms, was on a more liberal site.

This whole thing is weird to me, and I honestly think that the GOP’s days are numbered. They are trying to move so far to the left, the base voters won’t follow. Of course, many here will now say “We have to! We have lost Ohio, New Mexico, and most of the eastern states! We need to converge and drop the social conservatives by moving to the left!”

I guess if that is the plan, then so be it. Here I stand, I can stand no where else. If the new GOP is in the shape of Rudy, then I guess I will not be in it.

Your reading skills are completely lacking and your imagination profoundly out of control.

Just stop lying about me and we'll be fine, Mr. UNprincipled.

Exactly. Rudy cannot win in Texas, the Southwest, the South, and likely the Midwest. So, even if he takes California or New York (BIG IF) what has he got?

I assumed it was because he was a noob who was getting too many jollies watching longtime freepers get banned. It was sickening to me to read his posts.

I don’t doubt it, but I won’t be around to see it. If Hillary wins, I will leave the country, and that’s not a threat. I can and I will.

I'm a light hearted person myself. IIIC, veronica makes fun of his wearing suits from JC Penney's and digs at him like that.

If I'm wrong about her I'll apologize.

it matters with the small % of voters dedicated enough to vote in the primaries.

The polls I'm referring to are of likely primary voters.

I'm pretty active in my local party, and just about everyone I know is at least considering Rudy if not already committed to him.

Try to convince her to apologize. Jim is on record that he would allow her back if she would apologize for saying things about Reagan that weren’t true and comparing Rudy to Reagan.

The details are in a post he made a ways back, I think he meant it. So if you have a contact with her, see what’s up. She really got weird very recently, I think I remember mentioning it to her last week now that I say that again, almost like something happened that really ticked her off and she couldn’t get over it.

Maybe someone said something really over the top about her. Some of the anti-rudy people did get a bit harsh, maybe they don’t know or don’t care when they are talking to women.

I feel I’m going to take some heat for that......

“I am all for the purge.....and there are about 6 left to be ZOTTED”

Maybe the Republican candidates can do the same to determine who the presidential nominee will be...

They can all verbally massacre one another in a blog setting,.....It would save money and time....

The last one not banned, insulted-till-gone-in-an-indignant-huff, or fallen asleep would be the nominee...

I hope. I’m not as fearful of the wingnuts as I am about what the media will do to any candidate with an R next to his name. They are out of control. There are no boundaries, taste, discretion and even humanity anymore. It is a war and we are losing.
