And the buggers in West Verginia keep voting him into office. What we need is to repeal the seventeenth amendment, and return to senators being selected from each state by the state government.

If that were to be done, we would first have to outlaw partisan redistricting and require compact legislative distrcits which conform closely to county, city, and regional lines. Otherwise, the makeup of the Senate would be badly distorted and not at all reflect the will of the populace.

And the buggers in West Verginia keep getting their pork!

Of course, every road or building in the state is now Robert Byrd this or Robert Byrd that. Cant wait 'til they have to add Memorial to all the signs, the state won't be able to afford it, and the money from DC will have stopped flowing.

I love his notes. There must be at least 5 or 6 words per page. He must be nearly blind.

He also sounds as if he had 5 or 6 drinks before he read his speech.

:::
They have forgotten a whole list of campaign promises...that never got accomplished or just handed to the libs in the interest of a “new tone in Washington”...what a crock.

The problem isn't that he keeps running. The problem is that people are still electing him.
