Segolene Royal, the Socialist contender in France's presidential run-off, has warned of violence sweeping the country if rivalling right-winger Nicolas Sarkozy wins the elections.

"I think that choosing Nicolas Sarkozy would be a dangerous choice. I do not want France to shift towards a system of brutality," Royal told RTL radio on Friday, the final day of campaigning ahead of Sunday's vote.

No matter what this crazy woman says about Sarkozy, she is still going to lose this election.

You see, France's problem is that no matter who wins this election their president will be French...

There’s the nuanced, sober rhetoric the left is so well-known for!

At least Sarkozy is only half French, since his father came from Hungary.

Royal: Sarkozy to Plunge France into Violence

This will not scare the French.

But this would:

Royal: Sarkozy to Plunge France into Bathtub

Actually, smart French voters and the business sector will understand that what she means is he'll stand up to the Muslim crazies and Lefty nutjobs.

Sarko is lucky. His opponent has started campaigning for him.

Shoo-in for Sarko. It's hardly worth waiting for the inevitable "Sarkozy Elected President In Landslide" headlines.

Hmm...”Elect me or the rioters will tear the country apart!” is not exactly the ploy of a patriotic politician. The Democrats are taking note.

If she doesn't win the election, she could maybe get a tryout as an NFL referee.

This is true only if there are enough French left that feel there's something worth fighting for.

Typical, using the fear tactic. Same tactic Zapatero used in Spain to win the election.

All by himself he's gonna do that. Without any help from the IslamoFascist and RadicalLeft of France. That Sarko is an amazing guy!
