Lawmakers drafting bill to make sex through deceit a form of rape

BOSTON --Two state lawmakers are drafting legislation that would make using deceit to have sex a form a rape.

The move comes a day after the state's Supreme Judicial Court ruled that a man who tricked a woman into having sex with him could not be convicted of rape because no force was used. The woman said her boyfriend's brother climbed into bed with her while she was asleep and pretended to be her boyfriend. She said she would not have consented to sex if she had known who it was.

State Rep. Peter Koutoujian, D-Waltham, and Sen. Stephen Buoniconti, D-West Springfield, both former prosecutors, said Friday they are working with the victims advocate group Jane Doe Inc. to draft an amendment to the state's rape law.

Whoa! Back up - I thought liberals are against legislating morality. Since when do Democrats believe deceit is wrong?

“The woman said her boyfriend’s brother climbed into bed with her while she was asleep and pretended to be her boyfriend.”

LOL. Is this girl also a “dancer” near Duke?

Obviously a B.S. story to cover for the fact she did the nasty with her boyfriend’s brother.

And what is the limit for this?

Is saying, “I’ll call ya baby enough?”

How about saying, “Yeah baby, I’m an astronaut.” Is that rape now?

I wonder if it will include “Are you on the pill?” “Yes”

2 months later to the boyfriend “I’m prego”

“You Honor, she raped me!”

Or is this a “One Way” law?

Gee, have they ever considered impeaching the judges on the MA Supreme Court?

There’s lot of unanswered questions, namely, did either of them enjoy their time together? And did they do safe sex or not bother?

And did it really happen that way? Ok, so it’s 3 a.m. and it’s dark and she’s half asleep. but still, does she feel somebody getting into bed and immediately “assume the position”???? some things just don’t add up about this case.

I can't believe she was THAT stupid. The Democrats want to protect stupid people. If this woman didn't bother to ask if he was her boyfriend, it may have been unethical but it wasn't illegal. Some people get taken advantage of all too easily - and crying rape here is crying wolf and it does a disservice to real rape victims.

"The woman said her boyfriend's brother climbed into bed with her while she was asleep and pretended to be her boyfriend. She said she would not have consented to sex if she had known who it was."

An encounter as intimate as sexual intercourse pretty much precludes any defense of "I didn't know who it was". Does she want us to believe that she couldn't tell the difference between her lover and and another man while rolling in the hay? Nothing different about his kiss, his embrace, his privates, his 'style', his breath, his height, his weight, his groans and sighs? Sorry, doesn't fly here.

Agreed. Does she really have sex with her boyfriend asleep? Something doesn't compute here. The Democrats want to outlaw lying about sex - and this is delicious irony coming from the same folks who defended lying about sex back in the late 1990s! They don't see the irony here as liberals.

1998: Democrats Defend Bill Clinton's Right To Lie About Sex As A Consensual Matter Defense. 2007: Democrats Want To Ban Lying About Sex As A Consensual Matter Defense.

Nope - liberals are perfectly consistent about lying - it all depends on WHO has the relationship.
