They are concluding that the citizens of their states just aren't all that worked up about granting an amnesty. And they're interpreting that as a green light to give corporations the huge new supplies of legal foreign labor they desire. .
These are Senators who have voted against amnesty in the past..

Why are our politicians in such a frenzied obsession to grant amnesty that is so detrimental to our country? Is it because:
*They are bribed/blackmailed?
*They have infiltrated our government on behalf of foreign interests?
*They are delusional or suffer from other mental problems?
*They hate this country.
*They are fanatics for One World.
There are not a single legitimate reason to support amnesty. I know many legal immigrants who went through the system. Why should illegal immigrants - those who demonstrate a willingness to break laws - be given special admission? It sure helps admission to terrorists, the insane, and dangerous criminals who might otherwise be rejected. The message of amnesty is: break the laws and you will be rewarded.

***The program itself was intended to bring in the best & brightest technogeeks that we don’t have here in the U.S. That in itself suggests that no one should be coming here without a PhD. The way the program is being administered is that it’s a way to lower the wages for IT workers and other tech types. Very, Very few of the people who come here within the H1B program have degrees or knowledge that other americans don’t have; they simply are willing to work at a cheaper wage for 6 years in the hopes of obtaining a green card. It’s fraudulent.
The Reps had control of the House for 12 years. They bear some of the reponsibility for the sad state of our immigration policy and the lack of enforcement of the laws on the books.

Spirit....I’ve never seen it either and am wondering why not? I have paid close attention to everything having to do with illegal immigration/amnesty...but never came across your thread and would have actively participated, had I known!! I just can’t believe that something this important was posted back at the end of March for April activity and I ‘missed’ it!
What if you try to persuade them that the fines are just too much? What if they poison the bill with diluted fines, penalties, etc. SO much, that even the RINOs cannot support it?
